Looking to see if anyone else experienced this.

I had a natural miscarriage October 15 . I had some complications and lots of check ups since then, but recently I started to feel normal again. Well yesterday af came and was heavier than usual. More bleeding and cramping. Today I was at the grocery store and felt even more cramping and like I was going to pass a clot, so I pushed a bit. Well it felt harder, so I rushed to the bathroom and it was about walnut sized fleshy looking grey/white something. Maybe leftover placenta? I had my hcg monitored down to 2, so I thought risk of retaining anything was over. I called the nurse at the hospital where I delivered and she says not to worry as long as I'm not having more cramping our fever or anything. And I do feel better now that it passed. I kept whatever it was to show my doctor when I see her again.

Here is a picture of it. ****graphic****

A bit hard to see, I tried to get as good a shot as I could. It's whitish, squishy, kind of looks like a brain. Is this a part of the placenta?

Anyone else experience anything like this? I really hope this means the process is over and I can move on and start trying again soon.

I was still having issues for about 6 weeks after my MC, so they cleaned me out with a D&C due to retained tissue. If your healthcare professional thinks that you are out of the woods and they monitored your hcg down to such low levels, I personally wouldn't worry about it, but an ultrasound would go a long way toward confirming that there's nothing left if you still have concerns about it.

Thank you for your response Dill! :) I know you've had quite a journey yourself.

T- OMG!!!! That looks horrifying! I know you said the doctor isn't concerned, but I would seek a second opinion on that. Hope you get some answers and get to feeling better. :hugs:

You might consider showing your doc the photo, if nothing else!

I ended up having 3 D&Cs with my first miscarriage because of persistent retained products. I believe before the last one my HCG was only 5, but they still found tissue to remove. Have you had an ultrasound follow up after your miscarriage?

Thanks for sharing, mowat. I have had many ultrasounds but they said it could be blood clot or retained product, but whatever it was was just a small bit. So I'm hoping what passed was the end of it.

So sorry for your losses and the whole drawn out process. But how wonderful that you're expecting again. And twins! That's what I'm hoping for. :)
