Hope this is in the right forum...

My lo is 3 next May.

I am looking at nurseries to register her with so that once she is entitled to the free nursery vouchers I can return to work 1 or 2 days a week (I currently work weekends).

But what happens happens when all the nurserys/pre-schools close? I don't have grandparents who can help so I assume I would either have to take time off or pay a childminder?

I really need to up my earnings but I can't work out how it's going to happen at the moment :s

Any suggestions from people who have done it?

Wish I'd done a childminding course when I left school now lol

If you choose a private nursery they stay open til about 6-7pm. And with a private nursery you can have ur free hours together - so the whole 2 days, rather than spead over 5 days like a local authority nursery.

In school holidays you wont be entitled to the free hours, but private nurserys stay open and tax credits may be able to help you out with the payments. HTH x

Yup, private nurseries stay open over the holidays, in our nurseries, the fees are worked out over the year and divided by 12 months, so its a basic rate each month, the fact that school holidays come makes no difference to a private nursery.

Also my Mum puts my sis into a private nurseries when shes working during the holidays.

Interesting -thanks for the feedback.
