Hi ladies

Hope you are all well,

I was wondering if anyone could help me, my work have only really started doing family friendly hours n that was becoz someone in my work took them to a tribunal over discrimination and they are still very all for them and none for you kinda thing, but what I was wondering was how I go about asking them for better hours to suit me and my family life? Do I call or email or send a letter to them and what kind of things should I say? My hours r shifts which are earlyshift 7:45-3:30 and late shift 3:00-22:30 and these alternate and it all depends if the children are behaving whether or not I get out on time :( so worried I would hardly see my LO n would need ALOT of childcare

Basically if anyone has done this recently could they help me out or give some advice how to go about asking?

Thanks in advance

I am returning to work on Sunday and i also work shifts. I wanted set hours each hours and just emailed management. I went in for a meeting a stated what i would like.

I was lucky and they agreed.

I made a flexible working request in writing. Where I documented the changes I wanted to make, the reasons why and why it would not negatively effect the company. I was then invited to a meeting, where it was discussed and we came to an agreement.

Here's some info on your rights when it comes to flexible working.

I went and had a chat with my supervisor, then my boss and he sorted it all out for me with the HR department which was great as I was fretting about writing a letter x

A lot of companies have flexible working templates to complete with what you work, what you want to work, impacts on the company/colleagues and how to tackle this.

I filled this out, it went to hr then I was called In for a meeting. I'd contact your hr (if you don't have a good relationship with your boss) and ask about the process.

From what I read they can only refuse you if the business will be massively impacted

X
