Ruby or Matilda?

We've loved both names with dd1 and dd2.
We never used Ruby as popularity put is off but it seems too have rapidly dropped now and I actually only know 1.
Matilda we love but it seems to be an 'in trendy name' ATM which puts me off.

Is Ruby common still?
Which do you prefer?
Sisters are Isabelle and Eliza x

I like Matilda better than Ruby, but Matilda seems more trendy and I think Ruby goes better with the other girls' names.

I'll go against the grain and say that I think Matilda goes better with your other girls' names but I prefer Ruby.

I like Ruby, I only know 1 ruby who is now 8! I don't know any Matildas and do like the name. Tough one, equally pretty

I don't think Ruby is anywhere nearly as popular as it was, haven't known any baby's named Ruby for a long time. I really like it, but I do think that Matilda 'goes' better with your other daughters names. X

My daughter is called Rubie (obviously not spelt traditionally!), and I've found it's really decreased in popularity since she was born. I only actually know of one other Ruby too. We also had Matilda in the running of names! I like both, but agree that Ruby goes better with your other daughters x

I only know one Ruby so it's not that common. I think I prefer Ruby as I can imagine an adult with that name whereas to me Matilda is more of a childs name (might just be because that's my OH's parents dogs name that I think that though).
