We just found out yesterday we're expecting baby #2 :happydance: and I actually did my last run 3 days ago which was 4.5 mile. I really love running and would love to continue throughout my pregnancy but do you think it's safe? I've been running since having my ds so over 3 years now and completed half marathon this year so it's not like my body isn't used to it, but I don't want to cause any harm.

Hi there.
Congratulations on your pregnancy. Lovely news.

As far as I know, if your body is used to it and your doctor hasn't raised any concerns, you should be fine to keep running.
Listen to your body though and if it says that it's tired and had enough for the day, stop and have a rest.

😊

Congrats on your pregnancy :)

I think as long as you already do the exercise prior to getting pregnant & your body is used to it then you should be fine. As long as you don't over do it you should be fine!

I also do a lot of exercise, which I hope to continue when we ttc again. I go to bootcamp & run, I think I would need to stop bootcamp once my bump started to grow though as certain exercises one be difficult.

Hi there. Congratulations.

I think with everything in pregnancy there are those who are for and against things. I remember reading an article on this recently in Mother & Baby (I think it was that one) with a Yes and No column for it.

I wasn't in to exercise before I was pg. But if you completed a half marathon, and as everyone else has said it's all about listening to your body. You'll know whether you're up to it really and when you need to stop.

Of course if you do want to play it safer then you can always start again after you've had your DC. You could always go to one of those push baby groups with your buggy when you feel ready. And as it sounds like you're really into exercise you may want to look into the Bugaboo Runner.

Hope that helps. Good luck with everything. :)

Just a quick update! I actually decided to go for a run 1 week after starting this thread and felt fine. I made sure I didn't push myself. Since then I've not really had the energy to go and we've also been away so I enjoyed some swimming instead. I saw the midwife last week and she said it would be fine for me to carry on as long as I don't go too hard and get too tired, if I'm in pain I need to stop. I decided to go this morning and I really enjoyed it. Only did 5k and I was 4 mins slower than usual but so glad I went and hopefully can continue to do so throughout my pregnancy!
