My son has been exclusively BF until about 2 weeks ago. We switched to Cow and Gate 3 for a morning and evening feed plus cereal and porridge. His poos have become soft and more frequent. I suspect the formula so want to try a different product. Any recommendations?

It's said that Aptamil is closest to BM. U can also give him apples, bananas & carrots as they make stool firmer. Hope this helps xx

everyone says SMA causes a slightly consitpating effect - so maybe it'll make your sons stools a bit firmer, but not actually constipated? xx

Aptamil and Cow and Gate have prebiotics in them which are designed to give them runny poo. It's because formula used to make baby's constipated (older formulas like SMA still can do) so they added the prebiotics to stop this happening. Like the OP said if you want them to be firmer you could try SMA because of this but if you go with C and G or Aptamil then they will give your LO runny poo but be reassured they are meant too! I don't know about Hipp Organic so you could try that as well.
