We went for OH's results today and they are as follows;

Appearance: Normal
Liquefaction within 1 hour: Complete
Consistency: Normal
Volume: 1.8ml
PH: 8.5

Concentration: (million/ml) 56
Total/Ejaculate: (million) 100
Round/WBC: (million) 2.7
Sperm MAR IgC%: NIL
Motility (PR-Progressive) 43%
Motility (NP-Non Progressive) 8%
Motility (IM-Immotile)49%
Morphology/Normal: 8%
Vitality: 81%

We are waiting for a referral to the FS but his doctor didn't say much about his results, just that it's 'normal' - any thoughts?? This was his first SA and we don't know anything about it!!! Thanks for any input x

I am going through the same thing sweetie I have an appt on March 26th DH has another on March 20.

If this helps my paperwork shows the normal levels and only 2 of yours are pretty "testy" which is the motility and the morphology.

Motility (the progressive type normal sperm) normal range is 50-90%
Morphology normal range is 15-90% (which honestly 15% is quite low and its going to need "help" if you get me)

Our numbers are in my siggy :( an they aren't as good as yours..... very sad:(

I'll be praying for you hun I hate that I had to dish out bad news :(

There is more on SA's results information for you and your DH!

Thanks, I'll have a look at the link now. I'm also concerned about the ph - It is higher than average & I wonder what this could mean :\ It says online it could indicate infection but he seems fine (no symptoms) so I don't know what kind of infection! His doctor didn't seem bothered. TBH he looked clueless! :s

The fertility doc will know way more about what to check for etc. I wish you the best though b/c I know how heartbreaking this whole mess is. My husbands SA was normal a year ago....then he deployed and they checked it again....and its WAY worse.....makes me think it happened while he was gone STUPID crap :( I knew this would happen we tried our hardest to get pregnant for 2 years :( an it never worked :( then he deployed an now there is almost no chance without IVF to even try anymore. ALL the 3 years the money I wasted on OPK's and fertility testing...could have been used for adoption or a donor sperm....just ticks me off so much!! I hate the military system they are just clueless about anything for our men and women who fight for their countries....

But I pray that you get some answers I wouldn't worry about the PH because it says up to 8 is normal. I think maybe next time he does another SA it would be normal for you both! Ours have changed from the last SA as well!

Lots of :hugs: :hug: to you hun I know its gonna be ok just might take a while longer to get it!

The normal range for progressive motility is 50-90%!!!??? My DH only has 23% rapid swimmers :(

But the nurse said everything was normal. Where did you get that number from?

I think it looks good. You can compare to my DH's results. Which are;

Volume: 3ml
Total Count: 144.8 million
Rapid moving: 23%
Slow moving: 17%
Normal cells: 38%
WBC's: Normal

That is the only info I got so far!

The PH is fine ,there are men with semen PH as high as 9 that dont have a infection. my DHs PH is also a 8 and he does not have a infection. as long as its above a 6 its fine anything lower then that and he would be shooting dead sperm .

Thanks for your replies & opinions girls, it's hard to stay patient waiting for the FS referral to explain things properly! Going back to the doctor next week to see what happens next xx

Morphology is normal around 4/5% My o/h has 2/2.5% morph and our f/s said its perfectly fine and no need to do anything with him. the Progressive type being 50-90% think you have that wrong because my f/s said its quite normal for up to 50% of the sperm to be immotile.
