Hi, guys --
I feel the most comfortable here, so .... baby is here! I am so pleased to say that after a mc and two possible chemicals that Finn Matthew Gleeson was born on Friday, 3rd February at 36wks+1 by emergency c-section, weighing 6lbs 11oz., and should be coming home tomorrow/Friday.
I had a pretty uneventful pregnancy until wk32, when my blood pressure started to go crazy and ultimately, was admitted to hospital for two days and then 'released home' with the hopes of making it to wk37 (but attending every other day) , but after an uncomfortable night and lots of worry, went to my BP appointment and confided that I was scared; the midwife and consultant listened to me, and when my blood work came back, along with my odd headaches and worry about the baby, I was told to call my husband, we were having the baby then!
Four hours later, baby was born! I was admitted to intensive care to get specialised treatment for the pre-eclampsia, while baby went to special care (but not intensive) to clear lungs and get him started feeding, but he is fine! On Sunday, I was moved to a private room and have spent the last few days recovering and feeding baby! I am home now, baby should be coming tomorrow or Friday....!
I know all of you are worried due to your previous losses, but it is possible to get to the end with a bundle in your arms. Just try and relax a little bit, too! Altho, it was quite funny to see my OH running through the door with baby clothes for a 6month old (he had been asked by my doctor to bring something for baby afterwards!).
Best wishes,
SabrinaKat (aka Pamela)
