Anyone care to share some light for me on this..please. I have broke night twice already trying to read/learn of better ways to clean my house instead of using toxic chemicals. I have two cats who like to jump on everything..and yes even the kitchen counters..despite our 1,000,000 efforts to stop this from happening . So when getting ready to cook, I would always disinfect the counters with Clorox Wipes and use a clean cutting board & knife for cooking. But now I don't know what to use to DISINFECT..cuz I've been told to stay away from even Bleach. So I'm completely lost guys!!! Please share your knowledge! Thanks

Btw..I'm currently trying items from the "Method" line as my wholesaler carries some of it. But are these safe?? What about Seventh Generation? which one is safer? The labels on these, have listed some chemicals on the back of its bottles that i can't even pronounce. And you know what they say about that. I'm missing my disinfect wipes so much!!!!! ..these safe wipes i cant seem to find them in large bulk anywhere.

I've been using Method as well! Should be just fine as they're non-toxic.

I also use disinfectant wipes on the counter for the same reason. (Darn cats! lol.) Never really considered them an issue health/pregnancy wise. I think they should be fine as long as you're not letting them touch your food directly and washing your hands afterwards.

I just read this on another forum and found it helpful. It's in the context of using Lysol disinfectant wipes without gloves during pregnancy:

"Doctor said they were safe, just nothing with strong chemicals like bleach, toilet cleaner etc. She said, if it burns your skin when you touch it or nose when you breathe then you shouldn't be using it."

My mum swore by using vinegar to clean or just hot steam. She never used chemical cleaners and still doesn't. Vinegar and baking soda for tough stains

I think vinegar might be a bit smelly, but I have never tried that one! Lysol wipes have been the equivalent to me that windex was int My Big Fat Greek Wedding! My mom used them all the time when she was pregnant with my youngest brother. And I have used them since I found out I was pregnant, never even thought if they could be bad for the baby or not.

I would check out some of the recipes online to make your own cleaning products at home - I have a vegan cookbook (I'm not a vegan, but the cookbook has fantastic veg recipes) that I think was published in Australia or the UK and it has a great section in the back that provides all kinds of natural cleaners for the home. Vinegar, baking soda, lemon, etc are on the list. There must be some websites online, too (I found this one just by googling: https://blog.vegancuts.com/recipes/clean-your-house-on-the-cheap/ ). I'm a bit lazy and just buy the all-natural ones at the store... but then, I'm living in a country now (Germany) where it is far cheaper and there's more selection than when I lived in the U.S. or elsewhere. If I were still in the U.S. I'd probably be making my own at home!
