Saliva and Preseed

Ok, so I've just been in the success stories section and keep hearing about how amazing preseed is. So I've been doing a bit of research on t'internet and found some articles saying that saliva can kill the swimmers. Now without giving too much away, our lovemaking almost always involves saliva, IYKWIM!

Can this really be the reason why after 2 and a half years we have never had a sniff of a BFP? Although if I think it through, surely the fertility clinic would have told us about the killer saliva on our first visit? Was thinking of giving the preseed a go but again, if it was so good surely the NHS would be giving it away, it must be cheaper than all those bloomin drugs??

I'm confusing myself now, what does everyone else think?

I think they should give it away with all the tax etc we all pay, but nope you have to get it online, i have never tried this though so good luck and yes, i found out on here that saliva kills sperm

Hey, yep pressed is good if u need & want a bit more lube. Spit is def a no no but I should imagine you'd need a lot and it has to come into direct contact with the sperm x

I've used pre-seed in the past and it is great as a lube. The only problem with it is there is usually too much in each vial, and you either end up swamping yourself or you waste loads. I found a new ttc lube called zestica which is 'supposedly' better than pre-seed but comes in a pump action container which means you can control how much you want to use.

Give it a whirl, there's no harm in trying.

I've just bought some zestica and i've used it a few times and it's really easy to use. And gives good lubrication!

I posted about preseed in ttc as I have so many questions and no-one can answer them. I'll try anything, but tbh I have no problems with dryness whatsoever. I went on the preseed website and it shows a photo of sperm with normal lube and one with preseed, but without preseed still more sperm gets through with natural juices. So for me who has no problems with dryness, is there any point trying this???? Confused!!!

The amount of saliva you use for 'oral sex' lets say, isn't going to make you infertile. Some people use spit as lubricant. That's where the problems come in.

You may have a point there Chele! I don't really have any issues with dryness either so maybe its all just a big fat red herring!

Yeah some people do that. That's what kills the sperm, that thick, mucusy spit that people often use to 'lubricate' before sex. Haven't you seen Brokeback Mountain, for example, where he spits on his fingers?

I find preseed comes in handy if i'm less than enthusaistic (sorry DH!!!)

you'd think I would not have much when I couldn't be bothered, to get him to back off, but know it still gets produced

It's really weird as I don't get much CM any other time. Will keep trying and maybe one year more down the line I might try buying some

Has anyone here got a bfp from using preseed.

I am awaiting my order of preseed. Anything is worth a try.

I embarrassingly came straight out with it with my fertility specialist and it's a definite NO! No saliva, no KY Jelly, even NO water! Nothing.
I've got my first batch of preseed and am trying it for the first time this month. I've ordered another batch just incase my OV is as late as CD23 as it was last month.
I have read soooo many success stories with preseed, including from people waiting on IVF lists, it's got to be a given!
