Can you share how you did it?
Thinking I might like to make one
hi yeah of course!

well to make the dough its one cup of table salt, mixed with 2 cups of plain flour. mix together then add half a cup of warm water, knead for a few mins and then another half cup of warm water.. keep kneading until you have a nice dough. if its too sticky just add more flour.
anyway i just rolled out three long sausage shapes and gentley plaitted them. be careful not to make them too thin or they will snap and you will someohw have to mould back together but it will be obvious and not look nice. after i had made the plait, i used a sharp knife to make both the ends straight, then joined them together using a bit of water on a paintbrush.
then, i put a hole in the top using end of paintbrush so i would be able to put a ribbon through in order to hang it up.
the bow was just trial and error, just keep trying till you get a shape you are happy with. same with the candy cane.
it's best if you do the shaping on a bakign tray otherwise you have to pick it up from the table using a spatula and risk is breaking.
put in the oven on gas mark one for about three hours, check it is hard. if not leave for longer.
i then painted it with acrylic paints, waited till they were dry and used a layer of clear varnish (just ordinary varnish tht you use to decorate with!). make sure you wait until paint is dry or it all runs and the dough colour shows through and its a nightmare!!
to attach the candy cane i used superglue on the back of it, a bit of thin ribbon, and more glue to attach to wreath.
hope that all makes sense
