Hi

I've been for a scan today and have been told the blood flow to my little boy looks like it's now becoming restricted. He was the bigger twin and although he has grown he's measuring smaller than my little girl now.

There was a bit of a cuffufal and I was taken into see my consultant and told I was going to be taken down for monitoring. She explained that after 4 steroid injections and another scan this Friday, if the blood flow was still restricted they would be looking at delivering the twins by csection this weekend!!!!

I'm trying to stay cool and positive but I'm shit scared, has anyone on here delivered their twins at 30 weeks? Were they ok? xxxx

I delivered at 31 weeks at my boys are fine. It is likely to mean a long stay in SCBU but the steroid jabs will help. Just remember that sometimes they really are better off out than in.

If you have any specific questions, please feel free to ask. There are a few of us on here who have delivered around 30 weeks x x

Thanks hun, I'm just a bit shell shocked at the moment. I'm going for my first steroid injection tonight at 9.00pm so just sat waiting around. What were the weight's of your little ones? I'm assuming they will take them straight away from me when they deliver them? I'm gutted about that part as I wanted to have skin to skin contact straight away. xx

My boys were 3lbs 14 and 3lbs 8. My two were shown to me very briefly and then they were taken straight to the NICU. One of the nurses brought me photos about an hour later. My DH could see them once they were stable but as I had pre eclampsia I was pretty poorly and could leave my bed for 24 hours so didn't see them until 24 hours later. That was pretty tough.

Not being able to hold them straight away is really difficult but you are encouraged to touch them and help with their "cares", & it makes that first cuddle extra special x x

Bless you, you had it all happen didn't you! You've just brought tears to my eyes with your last sentence :hugs:

Well I'm going to stay positive and hope beyond hope that there was some reason the flow wasn't right today, the consultant did say it could be "just one of those things" and by my next scan on Friday morning it could just have been a blip and he will be ok. BUT I'm assuming the sonographer wouldn't have gone so silent though when she was listening to the beats and wouldn't have rushed out of the room with my notes to the consultant if it was merely a blip.

I can't get my head round the fact they could be here this weekend and I'll be a Mum.

Thank you for your reply, you've really calmed me down :hugs: xxx

Hi

I'm 26 weeks today, had steroid injections last week, (waters broke at 19 weeks) home at moment, but just had 6 days in hospital being monitored. Holding on as long as we can x

KellyBD, trust the hospital, they will do everything possible for you and your twins, 30 weeks is a good week, the longer you have keep them the better it is. Keep us updated on how you do

Big hug and all our best wishes xxxxx

Glad to of helped hun :hugs: I hope it is just a blip and that you can keep them cooking for a few more weeks yet! xx

Thank you Nicquick, bless you hunny I hope everything goes well for you too! Just shows we are all capable of producing little fighters :) that's why we were given twins in the first place :) xxx

Can't offer any advice but wanted to send you :hugs: and I hope that things improve by Friday for you.

Keep us updated and best wishes to you all, I am sure you have two little fighters in there whatever happens. xx

I delivered mine at 28wks and are perfectly fine and healthy ( we have our hurdles, but nothing serious) and Laura delivered her girls at 29wks. I don't get on here much but you will find me on facebook if you wanna chat some more ( Rebekah Carrick, FB name)

Thanks everyone, I'll keep updating as and when. Had my first injection last night hmmmm they aren't the nicest thing in the world :(

I'm just staying positive, I watched the triplets delivered on "One Born Every Minute" at 30 weeks so that gives me some inspiration that all will be ok. Ironic really, I start my maternity leave this Friday!

Obviously some of you ladies were earlier than me and it's nice to know your lil ones are well and happy, I guess I'm just feeling a bit strange at the moment, after two bleeds early on all I have done is worry about these two and I finally thought all was well now and was getting ready for my 37 week induction. I'm just very grateful I've come this far.

Bek74 I haven't got a FB account as it's caused me and OH no end of trouble in the past but thank you, I'll try and contact you on here if you don't mind once the twins are here as I'm sure I'll have loads of questions.

I don't know how many of you believe in astrology but my Dad is an astrologer and does alot of talks in the States, when I had my two bleeds early on in pregnancy one was on a full moon (to the night!) and one was on a new moon (to the night)this weekend is a new moon and it ties in with something on my Dad's astrological birthchart, he said to me last night "mmmm I was just thinking today, what news awaits me this weekend" :) xx

I will check in on you all, feel free to PM me anytime :hugs:

Hope everything goes ok for you, my boys were 33 weekers after i went into labour at 30 weeks. They were fine and weighed 5lb7oz and 4lb7oz. xx

I hope everything is well. It sounds like they are taking good care of you and your babies. Hopefully the scan will show he's doing better today so he can bake a little longer. ((hugs))

Hi Ladies, well went for my scan this morning and got the sonographer I had originally had who actually lectures on twins. As soon as I went in she said "Kelly I'm not concerned with his weight" she went straight into the scan and straight away got his placenta beat, we listened for about 10mins and she showed me the beats on the screen. Everything was fine :) I couldn't believe it, she also said though that in the last two days he has turned over into the breech position, but I don't know if she meant that had effected him or not.

She sent me through to get my last steroid injection (thank god!! I HATE them!!) and then I was set up on the monitor machine so they could hear both heartbeats. An HOUR later I was removed and saw my consultant who has said that I have to have a scan each week now to check Callum's weight progress, but other than that I could go home :)

I am soooooooooooo relieved and sooooo looking forward to having a good night's sleep without waking every half hour worrying.

Thank you all so much for your replies and advice and for keeping me sane, I just hope they hold on a few more , I like having my bump :)

Big hugs Kel xx
