Emelia rose was born on sat 23rd of June at 7:06pm weighing 7lb13 and is stunning :-)

Pretty traumatic experience so let this be a warning......

Well I was sent in Friday to be induced- at 1cm when admitted they decided I should take the pessary to try and kick start labour!! Basically spent a full 24 hours havin contractions every 5-6 mins that lead to nothing!
The next morning I was sent up to delivery suite where they decided they would break my waters.... This is wher it began- I started havin stronger contractions after a few mins- about an hour later I had epidural put in, my pains started to get really bad on one side and were coming every 2 mins- it had not worked on both sides!! I was in absolute agony and never felt nothing like it, infact I was inconsolable (i thought i had a high pain threshold).
The anethasist was in theatre and couldnt re adjust my epidural! All I had was gas and air which did help cos I had something to concentrate on!!
The head midwife was then called and they gave me a super dose of the epidural which then did actually make me numb (I could have kissed her)

Then I was left to labour for a hour then checked- I was fully dilated, they wanted to wait another half hour to let her head drop down more so we did......

Then I was ready to go- my legs went in to styrups and i was told to push- I pushed just 3 times and babies heart rate dipped they panicked and decided to help me- cut me and tried suction cap which failed then decided on forceps. She was out literally 5 mins after I started pushing due to her heart rate!!!
They rushed her off to be checked and she cried all the way thru it and then once she was given the thumbs up she was put on my chest where we has skin to skin and put on the breast to feed!!

She is perfect but breastfeeding wasn't for me (don't beat ur self up if u don't want to do it in the end)

Then doctor realised I was still bleeding quite bad and needed to go to theatre- I has a 3rd degree tear as well as being cut and my uterus wasnt contracting to stop bleeding!!
Theatre was strangely ok- I has another epidural top up and chatted to the nurse thru the surgery (i was totally pain free)

Afterwards I've been in some pain but nothing I can't live with- as difficult as it was she was really worth it and the memory of what happens fades a bit every day!!

Good luck to all you mums to be and remember that no matter how much it hurts it will all be over soon!!

Congrats hun. It's good to hear someone else found the pain of induced labour horrific. I thought I had perhaps been really weak. My Epi didn't work either so ended up doing the whole thing naturally!! Think I'm slightly scarred for life on that 1!!

Congrats! I am getting my 1st induction late July and am a bit worried, thanks for your story and congrats on your LO :flow:
