Scrabbling/scratching sensation on cervix, anybody? What is it?

So I KNOW I'm not the only one getting this. I keep getting a horrendous feeling like baby is literally scrabbling/scratching at my cervix. It makes no difference whether I'm sitting, standing or laying down. I had it so bad last night and this morning it made me jump out of my skin. My OH thought there was something seriously wrong because I jumped and yelped simultaneously.
It feels like baby is sooo low down and I know she is head down (3/5ths palpable at last appt) so not sure if it can actually be her hands or what else it could be? So my question is less "is anyone getting this" and more "does anyone know what the heck this IS?!" lol. And is there any way to ease it because sometimes it actually really hurts. I honestly thought this morning that my waters were going to pop because it hurt so badly :( it feels like she's trying to dig her way out! Combined with the pressure I get when she stretches out and pushes her head down... ugh.

Please stay in baby! It's jot time to come out yet :nope:

Could be lightning crotch? Or whatever the name was lol

I get similar feeling and sometimes it really hurts! Feels like stabbing up there, it makes me jump and feels as though baby is gonna fall out! I had it with my first too

I'm thinking is head is really low so we shall see on Wednesday at my midwife apt and I'll mention this x

Not lightning crotch, had that a lot with my DS right at the end but this is a different kind of feelin, it's not a shooting pain. I spontaneously feel her moving and have this horrible scratching feeling inside :S it's so hard to describe as there's nothing I can compare it to really.

So uncomfortable today :( constant pressure on my bladder making me feel like I need to pee... except... I don't need to at all -.- aghhh lol. The joys of third tri :haha:

I know kinda what you're talking about. It's very uncomfortable pain right on the cervix when they push or do *anything* on there! I think it's just that they're super low down, and who knows what they're doing! Their hands are often right up by their face, though, so it makes sense that they could be pushing with hands as well as head!

Today my little guy pushed his head so strongly on it that I thought he was going to push his head right out!! hahaha. Yes, it hurts!!

It's a Ninja Baby...I'm working on illustrating the difference so I can explain it to my midwife. :coffee:

I thought I was losing my plug this evening. I had so much pressure it felt like if I stood with my legs too far apart the baby would just drop out! I could have sworn something was coming out of me  I had to run to the bathroom to check but there was nothing Google-worthy!

Been having a lot of contractions today and last night. I thought at first it was baby stretching but it happens a few times in a row and proper takes my breath away, I only realised when I felt my belly when it happened a couple of times earlier and noticed it all went pretty firm. Not like a rock but definitely harder than normal. This baby is certainly keeping me in my toes already

That's so funny!

Thank you so much for that! :,D

:haha: I imagine this now every time I feel it

I do get the same feelings though. Not always but every few days Ninja Baby is on a mission. I get a weird, queasy stomach feeling from all the movement, pressure and the scraping.
I have been having more contractions since my baby decided to descend down into the pelvis more. I go through up to 30 at night. I also lose tiny bits of my plug (creamy discharge) which is supposedly normal as your cervix begins to soften and ripen.

Been having this for about a month now and my cervix is closed with over 4cm in length! So does not seem to be doing anything for me.

Aww, yeah I've been having lots of braxton hicks contractions this pregnancy. When he pushes on my cervix, sometimes I can't walk and I can't figure out if I'm also having contractions or if he's just stretching hard and making my belly hard... it feels a little different. He's been pushing a whole LOT on my cervix this weekend, multiple times a day. I just think about how he's softening that cervix up, getting it ready! haha, even though it hurts

I've been having exactly the same! It's awful. For me I can describe the sensation as biting on aluminum or scratching a chalk board. It's awful. I found out yesterday that baby suddenly went breech so that explains the feeling it's tiny feet on my cervix

Got my first of these pokings yesterday while in the movies, of all places. Jumped and cried out so loud I scared the pants off DH.

According to my OB who I called this morning regarding some other things, it is just the baby poking at the cervix. Mine just turned and dropped a week ago so I have sll kinds of new problems/pains now :dohh:

Also according to my OB this particular position of the baby can also cause pain in the left/right ovary (on the same side the baby is facing). It sounds weird to me but ok, whatever they say... :coffee:
