Scraping teeth!

Kaya's now got two bottom teeth, one top tooth and one on the way. The bottom teeth were fine, a couple of biting incidents, but overall things were fine. BUT now there's this top tooth and every time she latches on it scrapes! It's quite sore and to make matters worse, as she's teething she's wanting to feed a lot coz of her sore gums. Help!

Buy Teejel at a pharmacy. Apply it to his gums. It tastes like liquorice and helps numb the pain for the baby.They love it...or at least I loved it as a child. Or you could get a teething ring and place it in the freezer before you give it to him so that it can help with swelling. With the feeding and your poor sore nipples,I have unfortunately no advice. Good luck!I'm sure he looks supercute with his 3 teeth.

She's very probably just getting used to having top teeth, and finds them accidentally getting in the way! The bottom ones wouldn't be a problem as her tongue would be over them, but those top ones can catch a bit early on! It will settle down as she becomes more used to having them and her gums stop hurting as much.

Try positioning her a little lower, so she has to reach up more and gape a bit for the breast....that may help keep the teeth away until she just gets used to the fact that they are there and will keep them clear herself.

Aww Marley, I have no experience with breastfeeding and teething but they say it subsides after a week when baby gets use to it.
