I'm really worried, Tabitha has been screaming when she's feeding for a while now... has anybody else been through this??
I've got a few ideas what it might be,

Maybe she's sleeping and pissed off she cant get to sleep fast enough?
or
Maybe she's got a pain in her tummy (but it happens nearly every time i feed her) But if i stand up and feed and rock her it calms her down?
or
She's got two teeth coming through just now so does that make a difference??

I'm really confused and my HV doesnt know what it is but its getting quite upsetting that i cant do anything to help her. Where BF normally helps her calm down and be happy its now making her scream

How long has it been happening Sarah?? You've covered all my ideas.....

It could be her teething, it might be uncomfortable for her to nurse, so it might cause pain so she cries? Hayden wouldn't eat as often when he was getting a tooth....until we got his teething necklace atleast

Uhm maybe 2 months now... but it was really just at night so i thought it must be that she was sleepy. I asked my HV and she said that she thought she was either scared of feeding (WTF) :dohh: or that it was colicy?

She just screamed at me then bit me  was so sore!! I just have no real ideas i just thought that it might go away. But its now nearly every feed...maybe its a combination of all of them really. She's exhausted and sore and sometimes gets wind...

So teething does hurt? Whats a teething necklace?? She wont chew on anything i give her, just me...gutted!!

Oh yeah teething does hurt them. A teething necklace would probably be perfect for her, you aren't supposed to let them chew on it. It's made of amber and they just wear it all the time, you buy it tight enough that they can't get it in their mouth or get it caught on anything but it isn't like a choker or anything. My toddler has been wearing his now a good 6mo without ever any problems. But it works awesome, somehow the amber soothes their teething. I'm not big onmeds so I didnt' want to have to give Hayden stuff all the time for his teeth so I wanted to try it really thinking it was a crock andwouldn't work lol but it REALLY does. It's awesome. Hayden used to get sooooo fussy, you could tell it was really hurting him and since getting this he has gotten in 4 molars along with now 8-9 other teeth and I never knewthey were coming in besides looking and seeing them. I know lots of moms make them but I ordered mine from

Hebe has an amber necklace ;)

You dont have an over active let down do you?? I've heard of babies getting frustrated when Mum's milk comes too quick.....

Finally someone else that has heard of them lol, everyone things I'm crazy haha, they really do work

My sister used it with my nephew and now we use it....so far so good!!

Hi Blob,

We had this problem for around 1 month, it's very trying. I think in the end it was a combination of reflux and wind. The doctor prescribed Gaviscon but I hated giving to her so we just perservered and she has got loads better. Here are some threads which may offer you some ideas:

Thank you :) I'll try the necklace
Jemima that was my plan just to keep trying, have started to give her some calpol in the morning and night has helped those feeds.
Lisa, yes a major one i think she almost chokes to death  its quite rapid can hear her trying to keep swallowing thats why i thought it might be wind cos she gets very gassy from it :(

Thanks for your advice :)

I was gonna mention the reflux as my son was the same thing when he was BF ..he calmed down allot since ..and like you I had a major let down lol poor bub
