Can it hurt the baby when the seat belt tightens around the belly?

My brother and I were driving in crazy traffic and someone stopped right in front of us at 60 miles per hour so my brother had to slam on the brakes. The seat belt tightened around my belly. Is this bad?

I don't want it to hurt the baby. :(

I'm pretty sure it's fine because as long as you have the seatbelt under your bump bubs is protected by fluid and tissue and your hips take most of the pressure, but if you have any pains or don't feel bubs moving you should call your midwife.

I know most people say things like that are fine but after my aunt got bumped whilst she was pregnant it caused my cousin to have a bleed on her brain and now she has a couple of medical problems from that, so it's always important to just be aware of how you and bubs are doing. Hope I didn't scare you or anything though hun I'm sure it'll be ok!! My aunt obvs had more impact from getting bumped than you did simply from braking suddenly! :hugs: x
