Hi,

I run a successful business with my OH at the moment - I am still involved at times but now I have a baby, I admit that I am enjoying being at home and taking a back seat!

We have savings and I was considering whether I could set up a second business from home or if there was a salaried job I could look at....

any ideas of something I could do? :flower:

Hmmm. How about buying items baby related items from Gumtree, carboots etc. for pennies and then selling them on eBay as a business?

Are you any good at making things like cards or invitations?

Hi blue_kat,
I am currently on maternity leave and don't like the idea of going back to work (not sure i am to be honest) I have just set up my own business I sell a safe alternative to scented candles - they are safe around children and pets and are not a fire risk. You can work the business how you want (through various avenues including online) and work the hours that suit you. The prodcust are fabulous and really sell themselves, the company has also become the fastest direct sales company in history and as it is at ground floor level in the UK it is an amazing time to join and build your business.

I hope you don't mind me posting as i'm don't know if its your thing, but as you are already involved in your husbands business, you've had a taste of working for yourself so thought i would suggest the opportunity to you.

If you would like further information just PM me and I am more than happy to send you further details and information for you to look at and give you something to think about.

All the best in whatever you choose to do :)

well if you are interested in business from home then you have need to make a google blog and add their adsence ads so when they will approve it then you earning will start from home its not a difficult work and their earning is 100 percent payable so try it from home online

I'm WTT but work at home teaching online classes. If you have a master's degree you can teach undergraduate classes. I highly recommend it!

Work from home jobs really depend on what field you're qualified in. If you're an RN, there are lots of coding opportunities. Check out homejobstop.com, it costs $18 to join (one time fee only), but lists only real job opportunities and not junk and not a bunch of weird ads. It's where I found the job I have now, that I love.

Best wishes,
Bee

I tried this but there are loads of hidden costs with ebay and after postage prices as well you dont actually get much back for your money.

I now working at home through a company called forever Living and if you have savings to start with so you can take it up full time I think it is a very lucrative business to get into. As I left my OH my savings went on that so I only do this part time but having only been in it 3 months I am already seeing how it works and what profits you can make. after month to I broke even and I now make a small profit, it is only small but it is still a profit and rising all the time. :happydance: I hoping to start doing it full time once LO starts nursery and then really start making serious money within the company, but for the next few months to be earning what I am is getting me by and happy.

I not saying drop everything and start up this way as it has to feel right to you but I would recommend this company to anyone a I have seen it can work without putting in huge hours everyday.

Check out the web page if you interested an see what you think: www.workaloejovera.myforever.biz

Try blogging on topics that interest you. You can have a niche blog discussing your area of interest. Start promoting the blog once you have sufficient inflow of visitors and earn money through Google Adsense on your blog.

All the best.

Can anyone tell us more about this google adsense?? I've never heard of it ;)

xx

When you google something, 'ski holiday' for example (go and do it) you will get loads of results. The results you get on the left are there because of work the website designer has done on the underlying website. The sponsored ads on the right are there because the companies have paid google for them to be there

You pay per click. So if you click on one of the sponspred ads on the right, that company has to pay google a fee. The fee depends on the search word you typed in and how popular it is

You can end up spending a fortune on adwords/adsense. You might get 50 people clicking on your link and none of them buying anything

Google Adsense is Google's Free advertising program through which anyone owning a web property can advertise on their website and earn money based on the impressions of the Ads or clicks on the Ads. Adsense is a powerful advertising program amongst small web property owners and large businesses alike. All you need is a website or a blog with quality content which meets Google guidelines. Once you add Adsense code to your website and get the website approved by Google, you earn money either based on no. of clicks on the Ads displayed or the no. of impressions of the Ads on your website.

You can find more detailed information on Google's Adsense section.

Hope this helps.

thanks for the info! but not sure if you get paid if someone clicks on your ad or do you get paid? sorry I'm still a little confused...

Whenever someone clicks on the ad on your blog/website you get paid. Many people earlier have tried clicking on their own ads to generate revenues which was easily traceable by Google. So, you should also ensure that you do not click on your own ads.
