I've been on BNB for so many years, I feel like I'm visiting an old friend under sad circumstances.
I tried from 2008-2012 for baby #1 and finally fell pregnant with fertility treatment. I was diagnosed with PCOS, Insulin Resistance, and mild male factor in 2010. Life happened, so we were actively trying with supplements like soy isoflavones etc. Nothing. nada. No pregnancy. DH deployed to Afghanistan after we moved to Germany. I found a German specialist. DH came back from the sandbox. BOOM. pregnant with our almost 2 year old! Clomid and trigger shot did the trick.
DH is unsure whether he wants anymore children, but isn't interested in preventing, so I'm stuck in the middle of "I want another baby" and "I don't want to lie to my DH". We haven't been on birth control outside of a couple of months last summer to be sure I wouldn't be heavily pregnant when we moved back to the U.S. (so, about 4 months out of the last 24, 18 months of which could have resulted in pregnancy if my body worked right).
As of now, I'm working toward a paleo lifestyle again. I had planned to go strictly Whole30 (the strictest form of paleo) but our pitiful grocery budget isn't allowing that now, so I'm doing what I can. no sugar, no refined carbs, no processed foods, no white potatoes. I'm working down on dairy right now and still having the occasional meal out. I'm hoping to lose 20 pounds over the next 6 months or so with this path and Vinyasa Yoga.
I just started taking Myo insitol to help control my insulin levels. I'm taking the theraputic dose at 4,000 mg per day. I'm also taking black cohash for the first 10 days of this cycle. Recent studies have shown that black cohash helps ovulation more than clomid in PCOS patients! I'm hoping it will make me ovulate this cycle.
Today is CD 3 (almost 4, since it is 4am! ). Here's hoping we'll "accidentally" make a baby!
