Secret Santa?

Hi guys. I was just wondering if by chance we would be doing a Secret Santa thing this year? I've been on other forums that do it and it's been a great success for other people and I figured it might be a good idea. What do you think?

Well, maybe not if we seperated it by countries, because I noticed that there were several members here from the UK and the like, so maybe if we had people from each country that wanted to run one each and seperate them it wouldn't be so bad. Maybe like I run the one from the US and someone else from the UK run that one or if we had enough volunteers we could have a couple of people running each one and that would help out.

So, they won't even let someone do it if they're willing to manage it? Like I said, I'd be more than willing to manage the one for the US.

dnt think its as simple as that , the forums to big now i think the admin said , and a lot of messing bout checking peoples recorded deliverys etc

Well, I don't see why they would want to stop anyone that wants to volunteer for managing one. That just wouldn't make sense IMO.

wether u wana sort it out or not , if people dnt post/post late/say they wana do it then dnt admin will get all the crap over it and they just dnt need it

i did ss last yr with bnb it was grt,but cos the forums so big now its not possible i dnt think.....i hope it is but i dnt think it is n i dnt think admin will allow anyone eles to organize it x

that is something that is being discussed, I'll try to get clarification for you on whether it's a go or not

as for organizing a forum wide one we really can't allow that because it's to much work and there would more than likely be problems (there have been each year in the past) and though admin/mods may say they aren't going to be involved people would still be upset/pming us about it

If you wanted to do it with your TTC buddies I would arrange it on FB and just keep it totally separate from BnB maybe. But then it'd be up to yourselves to sort everything like what to do if it didn't work out or something. Hard to keep everyone accountable for sending their stuff out and on time when you don't see each other in person really

No offence, but we've run an official BnB secret santa every year (until this year), we know how hard it is to organize (even last year when we had half the amount of regular members). You signed up yesterday, have 21 posts (6 of which are in this thread) and insist on having a secret santa. If I remember right, in the previous years (the years we did do a SS) we had a 1 year and 1000 post limit before members could participate.

I have said (although I didn't make a big announcement) that if any existing groups want to do a little SS amongst themselves, they can... but I have recommended (due to problems we had of people receiving a gift, but not sending one out) they use the same rules that BnB had before (a minimum of a years membership).

Ok, well I did not know that. I didn't see anything posted anywhere, so I don't know. Maybe I won't do a ss unless it's with a group of people that are local so we can exchange gifts in person to prevent those issues.

Isnt there a way they could do it in groups. Like the TTC buddies one..
