So I realize that my DH results werent that bad but when combined with my pcos (currently 100mg clomid) I am still worried. I don't think we ever stop worrying here in ltttc.

Anyways here is the results of his analysis:

Volume= 1.7ml (1.5-6)

Density= 47million (>15)

Count= 80million (>40)

Motility= 66%(>40%)
***I know this is normal but it still concerns me,cause it sould be 100% right?

Total motile sperm= 53million (>20)

Forward progression= 3 (1=low, 4=high)

PH= 8.5 (7.2-8.5)
*** This is on the higher end and this worries me

Morphology=6% normal (>=14% is fertile; 13% to 5% fertile with subfertile with good prognosis)
*** This really worrys me, Its almost bad!

Under comments they said Moderate debris
***This worries me as well!

So considering this info, should we do iui? It would be cheaper for us to do it this cycle then any other because I am currently doing the clomid challenge so doc appt and u/s are paid for by insurance this cycle (only covers testing) so we would have less to pay for out of pocket

I just dont know what to do and I need advise. we are strongly considering iui if the clomid works but i dont know if it is the best rout for us.

my re did suggest that if we try for 3 months with no luck to move on to iui.

I just need advise from someone who has been there. :cry:

Honestly, your DHs sa doesn't look that bad at all.

Motility doesn't need to be very high. Just like it says, 40% or better. So you're good there.

Morphology has been controversial lately. I have heard that some institutions aren't even doing it anymore b/c it's not a good indicator of fertility. But, I've also heard that 3-4% is okay.

I'd personally be happy with the results you've gotten. But, I understand. When you're ltttc you figure something has got to be wrong.

I have done IUI 5 times in the past. We have unexplained infertility. It worked once and my son is now 9. Not sure if you want any of those details.

Good luck.

They're really good results. If you're concerned about any of it & want to do something constructive then I suggest the following as my husband's count went from 1 million to 4 million & his motility went from 98% immotile to 79% immotile. His morphology went from 8% normal to 10% normal. This was all in the space of 10 weeks:

Eat organic wherever possible
No caffiene
No booze
Lots of bananas
Wellman conception
1000mg vit C
1000mg fish oils
25mg zinc
B100

It's full on but for us it's meant that we get to try wih clomid for 6 months before giving up & moving to ICSI.

Good luck!

They are very good results nothing is wrong with him at all so you have nothing to worry about with him

The whole morphology thing really bugs me. DH had 7% then 5%. He was told by 2 docs, one who is a very well known fertility specialist, that this is fine for conception. Neither of us is that convinced though. Think the WHO (or some other org)has set the new limit at 4% being normal for conception.

Don't know about the debrie thingy. I would just go with what your specialist has told you. I don't remember there even being a section for that on ours x

i know it's not a massive consolation, but your DH's semen analysis was far better than any of my DH's and i also have severe endo - we managed to conceive just using letrozole (no iui). so even though we were both subfertile, we got there in the end :) good luck xx
