Instead of the cb digis I asked for, he got answer brand dip strips. "These were only $20! And the only had a 7 pack of the ones you wanted." I know I am lucky to have a hubby who will make these drugstore runs for me, but I've never used these before. Any opinions out there? Are they readable? That is my primary concern that and accuracy of course. All thoughts on the matter are appreciated.

I've heard that some store brand PT's are better than digital, it all depends on the sensitivity....some store brands are very sensitive i.e 15 mlu whereas Clearblue Digital is 25 mlu so in fact some own brands may be able to pick up pregnancy before the Clearblue test :happydance:

Check the box your DH got and check the sensitivity  i only get the cheap own brand tests now, saves me a fortune :happydance:

i use both and i enjoy watching the cheap ones get darker and telling me that ovulation is closer. Last cycle the cheap ones told me ovulation and i didn't get my smiley on my digital...even with the same urine! Try amazon to get your opks..they are cheaper! even the digital!

I like the cheapies too. I used CB digi's my first cycle, and switched cause they were too expensive. But then it turned out that I like the cheapies better anyway - you can see the varying levels of darkness, as you approach ovulation, rather than just a positive or negative. You'll be fine...and you may even be converted soon! :)

I've only used opks once before, the digi ones, and I never detected a surge. So, I'm begining to think you all are probably right. Being able to see the progression is definitely a good thing. They are just so tiny! I guess when the test line becomes as dark as the control that's a positive, or do you wait until the line is darker than the control? Do you test until the line becomes lighter? Sorry for so many dumb questions.

Yeah I was shocked at first at how small they, especially after using the big digi's! But you get used to it. I did just buy some from Amazon that I did NOT like - they said Wondfo but ended up being "Wanfu's"...I don't know what that was all about. When I went back and looked at the seller it said "Wandfo/Wanfu Enterprises". Anyway, they were even smaller. So just watch out for those. But they're not really that small once you get used to them!

It's considered a positive when the test line is as dark as the control OR darker than the control. I get a positive that's darker than the control, but some people just get 2 lines that are equally dark.

I use Walgreen's brand OPK's and they are extremely sensitive. I highly recommend!
