for me i tryed to have sex last week when i was 3wks6days post partum, i thought a month was a reasonable waiting time. but as he entered it hurt, so i got on top n thurt it wud be easier to lower myself on!! wrong. its stung like hell just being a little bit in. and i dunno why because i have no tears.

jess said she wa suncomfortable at first, do u think if i try again i shud put up with discomfort and it will ease off.

I had sex for the first time around 4 weeks too.. it wasn't too bad, it was a bit uncomfortable at first and took a bit to ease into it but otherwise it was fine. The next time we had sex I tried to go on top but found that it hurt my tear much much worse and I had to stop altogether. Now sex is much much much better! Horrayyyy!!

Did you two try lots and lots of lube?

P.S: AQUA! What are you waiting for?! I had sex before my 6 week and my doctor didn't frown upon it.. all she asked was "have you had sex yet?" I said yes and then she just asked what try of contraception I'm using and will continue to use. Good on you for having such amazing will power!

Amy, use a LOT of lube, it really helps. + try to relax, your muscles down there will relax and it will fell better. Ask your OH to go really slowly and gently the first few times.

It takes time and patience, but in the end it is really worth it. It'll go back to normal don't worry about it!!

My tear has all healed up now and I'm not in any real pain down there but when I was in hospital having lots of examinations last week it was agony. For one I actually had to have gas and air to get through it. The day that happened though it was only 2 weeks since I'd given birth so I guess I was expecting too much to think it would be pain free.

It seems wierd it would hurt though when you think you'd be all stretched so it wouldn't.

I'm going to be nervous when I try again for the first time. Especially since I'll feel bad for OH if it hurts too much since it's been 2 or 3 months since we last had sex as it is!

Me and my OH havent had sex since my due date, i feel bad or that reason too.
Thing is I was scared to use lube coz i heard that some lubes can make a condom split.
Im not really well educated on condoms, never used them before. And i havent gone back on the pill yet. I need a new one coz the last one i was allergic too hence the baby haha

i hd sex as soon as i stopped bleeding so about 3-4 weeks the first time it didnt hurt cause i think he was being so careful lol but the second time was a bit painfull but i agree lotsa lube

My first post! Just usually read! My little girl is 5 weeks tomorrow, wow it goes quick! Me and Oh tried to have sexy time 3 weeks in but it hurt and I was terrified! But a week later we bought loads of lube and we did it, was great! Uncomfortable, but once you get going we had a great time!

we did it with me on top, mainly because I wanted to be in control and decide what hurt and how far it went in and so on lol!

I had a dream a few days before we did it that I would be so lose I wouldnt be able to feel thing lol! But i was actually suprised, I think my doc might have put too many stitches in! hehe ;-)

We tried it the other day and were also surprised how tight I was... I was terrified that he wouldn't be able to feel anything, let alone me! I think I may be swollen though from the abbrasions? I felt like I was a virgin again! (Don't know if this will be tmi but...) I tried my rampant rabbit the other day, too and I had to use loads of lube and could hardly get it in!! I personally hope it lasts as sex has never been better (tmi again!) but I have a suspicion that it is just swelling and when that goes down I'm gonna be looser than loose down there, with the sort of flappy-fanny that you'd expect from a 67 y/o who's had 10 kids!!

Well, I have the opposite problem since the OH is ummm......quite well endowed (sorry - way TMI!) and I am too small for him. He is hoping for a bit of loosening up. But, it seems like it will not be for him from what I see from the posts.
