Alfie will not go down in his moses basket at all, everytime i put him down in it he screams. Was wondering if anyone has tried a crib and if they're worth the money????

Oliver is in a cotbed and is a lot more settled. He grew out of his moses basket a few weeks go!! Maybe he prefers space now and is a bit claustraphobic in the moses basket? Not sure what else to suggest!!

I think our version of a crib is your cotbed... And Jasmine has been in her since she was a week old. She is perfectly happy in it.

I put max in his crib at 5 weeks old and he sleeps so much better in there :)

The type of crib i mean is the small swinging cribs. We have a cotbed in his room but it will not fit in our room as its too big and nowhere to out it so was thinkin a crib would still fot by the side of our bed like the moses basket. I just dunno what to do, he's currently sharing my bed and DH is in the spare room

Caitlin didn't take to her moses for a few weeks imo but soon loved it ...this time we have moses for down crib for upstrairs. Then when shes old enough she will move to the main cot ...Personally this time I'm going to buy one of those cot dividers for the cot when she first goes in they are suppose to be really good :D

Renah was in what you call a crib, I call it a cradle. She didn't like it much, I just took her straight from my bed to her cot

katie's in a rocking crib. she wasnt too keen at first and prefered her pram to sleep in, i think it was cos she was so cramped up in the womb lol! we never bothered with a moses as to get all the accessories and stuff it was just the same as buyin a crib. got one from babies r us for about 60quiddles. there's no way she'd be in a moses now cos she's huuuuge!!

Harry was in his moses basket up until a couple of weeks ago when we started his bedtime routine we decided to start using the crib and he really likes it, he goes to bed awake and falls asleep every night.
Weve got it next to the bed and weve got a musical mobile attached to it and he enjoys laying in it listening to that. We have a bumper on it so that he still feels quite snug xx

Are swinging cribs that much bigger than a moses basket?

Niamh and I co-sleep as she won't go down in her moses basket either. Although there is plenty of space, I think she prefers the closeness of being with me.

See heres the thing Rafwife I had two moses baskets ...

Caitlin was in one until 6 months  She was a petite lil woman still is but the other moses was naff small cramped and lasted 1-2 months max! It was a pokey moses basket compared to the other one and until I had those 2 I had no idea they could differ in size

So we have ....
moses basket one in attic for the kids dolls when they get to that age
moses basket 2 in the livingroom
crib in the bedroom which are suppose to last longer than moses baskets. Like any baby I guess it depends on them too

The other option is like I meantioned using the cot and buying the divider that lessens the space for baby to move around too much I guess it sort of gives it a crib size apart from wider (hope that makes sense).

I didnt realise they differed in size either :dohh: he's gettin so big don't think he'll be in it much longer but he went down in it last night for a couple of hours then again this mornin for an hour :happydance: we're making progress

if you can find one that is a good price, like under 20/25 it might be worth it, as they are only in them around 3 months. i think that they find a big cot daunting at first, thats what i experienced with mine anyway.
