Just an update really.
Contractions started Sunday Evening at 8pm. Went into my MW unit at around 3ish the following morning having regular contractions and was told I was about 3cm dilated so not classed as official labour and sent home. Went back in at 7.30am and was 4cm. Got to about 10am, intense contractions for which I could take no pain relief due to allergies. Was told I was 8cm, dilating too fast and putting the baby under stress.
Ended up being 999 Ambulance transferred to the hospital with contractions every 3-4 mins. The pain was unbearable and when re-examined mid contraction was told only 6cm dilated but still was putting the baby under stress. Told the MW I couldnt take it anymore and had an epidural. In a couple of hours went from 6cm to fully dilated and kept feeling the need to push for ages but needed the lead MW to be present for pushing.
I don't overly remember the pushing phase but 2 things I do recall is me thinking how on earth am I going to push her head out and the MW telling me when to push as I lost the sensation. Mum later told me LO's heartbeat kept going from 150 to 80 and the back up. The pushing phase took 11 minutes [quite proud of that!!!] and ended up with a minor 2nd degree tear and a graze. Stayed in hospital for 36 hours due to delay in waters going and labour starting.
She was born at 14:44 weighing 7lbs 2ozs.
Just glad she is here!!!!!
