Hi

My little girl was born on 25th November 2012 at 04:10am weighing 7lb 14oz we called her Ava Rose :). My waters broke on 23rd November and started getting contractions every 10 minutes, I called the hospital and they said to go in to be checked over as my waters had gone the baby isnt protected from infection. I went in to be monitored for an hour and they said I was in the early stage of labour but had to go back the next day(my due date) for the baby to be monitored they said if I did not go into labour on my own then I would be going in on 25th to be induced. On the 24th I went back to be monitored baby was fine but contractions were still only 10mins apart, I left at 11 o clock only to get home and my contractions were every 2-3mins, i rung the hospital who said to come in but likely hood was they would send me back home again.

I arrived at the hospital at 2am and was only 3cm dilated however the r the babys heartrate kept dropping they said they werent concerned as I was only 3cm but they kept an eye on me. I dont really remember alot of what happened as the gas and air sent me a bit high and everything was a blur but a doctor came into the room and said I was 6cms but they had to do a speculum examination and scrape the babies scalp to see if she was getting enough oxygen, the next thing I remember is the midwife telling me I wasnt pushing hard enough so I told her to 'f' off, not realising I actually had to get the baby out as quick as possible. The doctor said he would have to cut me and with me helping to push her out they used forceps to get her out a bit quicker, she had the cord wrapped around her neck, she was given a bit of oxygen to help her but she is perfect in everyway.

I stayed in hospital for 5days as my blood pressure was high and I needed a blood transfusion as my iron levels had dropped to 5.6, the normal level is meant to be 11! I am on labetalol still for the high BP and my diastolic is still a bit high, but we are both good :)

here is a pic of my beautiful princess :)

Aww, my son was trapped in the cord at birth, too, and his heart rate kept dropping. It was so scary! I'm so glad your daughter came so perfectly (and beautifully!!!). Get better, all right? :)
