On Sunday night my waters went about 7pm. Phoned hospital and told to go in within 4 hours if no sign if labour.
Started getting contractions at about 9pm. They went from nothing to every 3 mins within a short space of time. Went to hospital at about 11.30. Was 4cm when I arrived, had gas and air and some pethidine.
Poppy made her appearance at 3.40am. Everything deemed fine and er we're all set to be discharged on Monday afternoon. Then the doctor noticed she had jaundice. Blood test showed blood levels quite high so sent to special care for phototherapy. Get levels dropped quickly so she was taken off and all set to go home today when last blood test showed levels had gone back up higher than originally so she's had to go back in phototherapy. I'm really struggling with it as I can't see there bring an end to the cycle anherd I just can't envisage taking her home ever.
I just can't stop crying even though people keep telling me its not serious.

Sorry for the massive rant but I needed to vent.

Congratulations on your baby girl!
Its really quite common for babies to be jaundiced at first, shes in the best place to make a quick recovery and then you will be home before you know it.

When my daughter was born I wanted out straight away but they found a heart murmur so we had to be taken to a different hospital and stay in overnight.I was so worried about not getting home with her.

She only very young still, many women need to stay in hospital for much longer when they have a baby.Even though you are disappointed,it will be done before you know it and you will be at home with your lovely girl, just hang in there.
