On Sunday night my waters went about 7pm. Phoned hospital and told to go in within 4 hours if no sign if labour.
Started getting contractions at about 9pm. They went from nothing to every 3 mins within a short space of time. Went to hospital at about 11.30. Was 4cm when I arrived, had gas and air and some pethidine.
Poppy made her appearance at 3.40am. Everything deemed fine and er we're all set to be discharged on Monday afternoon. Then the doctor noticed she had jaundice. Blood test showed blood levels quite high so sent to special care for phototherapy. Get levels dropped quickly so she was taken off and all set to go home today when last blood test showed levels had gone back up higher than originally so she's had to go back in phototherapy. I'm really struggling with it as I can't see there bring an end to the cycle anherd I just can't envisage taking her home ever.
I just can't stop crying even though people keep telling me its not serious.

Sorry for the massive rant but I needed to vent.

Congrats on your baby! I hope everythings okay with your LO! <3 xx

Congratulations. I'm not going to say try not to worry because you can't help it but just take each day as they come and deal with that one (Don't think about the next day until it comes)

When my son was born, he was taken to NICU strait away because he was a 34 week-er. He as only there 12 hours then moved to SCBU. After 24 hours you could see his skin going yellow and the blood tests showed his bilirubin levels were rocketing. He was put on photo therapy and I was told he would only need 48 hours. It took 10 days for his levels to drop and so he could come home but ended back the next day for another 48 hours of treatment because they went back up. The thing is, your hormones are going wild at the moment (I can remember practically screaming into a pillow because I was so distraught and couldn't handle my emotions then). No pregnancy books prepare you very well for your child needing treatment in hospital when you expect to just be taking them home.
What hurt me the most is not being allowed to just hold me son when I wanted or feed him. I hope Poppy is better soon and if you need to chat or anything, I'm just a PM away

Congratulations. I hope everything regulates and you get to take her home soon :hugs:
