I am in my 29th week and this afternoon I started getting this shooting pain in my vaginal/cervix area. I never had it before. It's off and on and doesn't last that long. As of now I don't have any cramps. What is it? Everytime it's happened I have been sitting so I know it's not from activity (on my part). I read some posts that it could be baby engaging isn't it too early for that? I also read that it could be bubs, but idk. Don't really think it's that but could be wrong. Anyone have this? Or know anything about it? Should I ask the mw tomorrow at my appt?
I was getting ready to say what venus said lol My OB said that when my LO's head turned down that she was pressing a nerve near the cervix causing the shooting pains...but my LO can't make up her mind if she wants to be head down, breech, or her favorite lately transverse so every once and a while I get a break from that pain, but she reallly needs to get head down and stay that way in the next couple weeks.
Yep, I have this too and was told the same thing! And my LO pops herself in and out of there too... she stays head down, but hasn't engaged really at all -- I've been getting these pains for weeks now. A tad frustrating for me at 39 + 3. So no worries!!!
Thanks girls!
Met with the mw today and she said that it was probably just nerve pain from baby's position. ... Forgot to ask her what position he was in hopefully that means he is head down? though i havnt had that feeling today, so maybe he's not.
Also, right up until labour your baby can come in and out of engagement. I know my OB never bothered with engagement scores with Jasmine because they mean nothing.
Me too! I thought life was hopeless as LO refuses to be "engaged". Yet, there are days when I swear she can't be anywhere else but there. Not a comfy feeling afterall.
34 weeks!?!??! I'm 38/39 weeks and Bean still flips around sometimes
I get shooting pains depending on where she's sitting...sometimes I feel it without any movement from her, so I'm not entirely sure it IS her, but I guess it must be...pressing on a nerve, or something....sometimes it feels like she's nomming my cervix!!
oh man, I dont envy you, nightkd!!!!!!!!!! LOL.... When I was preggo with Jasmine she was stuck in head down for weeks, I probably would have fainted if she tried to turn so late in pregnancy!
