I had a 3 day labour with back labour, went two days at 2cm in extreme pain and strong contractions ( doctors would not admit me to hospital after 4 visits of me in tears and they gave me morphine which did not help), I had to get my water broken on day 3 when at 5 cm and was hooked up to a high picotin dose (induced) for the next 7 hours!!!I was on epidural for 8 hours. I made it to 9 cm and "something" on my left side of my cervix was preventing me from dilating. LO started going into distress(meconium was present when water broken) and I didnt have any energy to push as I had gone 2 days with no food( a nurse was telling the doctor I had keytones in my urine=starvation)!!!!MY LO was going into distress finally which scared me immensely, her heart rate was dropping and my nurse had me turn side to side while pushing an oxygen mask on my face in panic. My doctor still wanted me to push for 3 hours after the 3 days( and the distress) and I finally insisted to my doctor that I had to have a C-SECTION!!!When LO was born she had to have her lungs cleaned out( and hoped she would not cry beforehand) so she wouldnt inhale meconium!!!!!
The whole time I was in EXTREME pain and I had a HORRIBLE labour experience, I still feel traumatized and refuse to go to the clinic that handled my labour.
I went for a 10 wk appt with the specialist who did my c section and found out after 1 exam that I have an inch in diameter cyst near my cervix which if this was discovered I would have had an elective c-section to begin with and not have had to go through the horrible experience! She was shocked when she read my file on how my labour was handled. My previous clinic MISSED this and I am so sad and angry!! I am trying to get over this and wish it was easy to prove and sue.......sorry, just had to share...

So sorry about your bad experience. I'm glad things turned out for you in the end but a traumatic birth can take a while to get over. I'm sure you will feel better about it eventually but it's good to talk about your feelings. Will you be getting treatment for the cyst now?

On a happier note, congratulations on your lovely little girl, she is lovely.

aww thank you, yes I should be happy my lil one is healthy. I have the option to get the cyst removed which will be a days stay at the hospital, would have to plan way in advance for that. I guess this rant made me feel a bit better to get it off my chest, thanks for reading!:hugs:

I think its okay to be happy that LO is safe, healthy and lovely and still be upset about the birth, it's not a one or the other thing.

Hope the treatment goes well if you decide to do it. DO they think the cyst will eventualy heal on it's own without treatment?

First of all congrats on the birth of you're baby girl, she looks beautiful!
So sorry to hear you had to go through all that unnecessary distress! It is hard to just forget when professionals put you or you're baby at risk.
When my son who's now over 2yrs was born,I knew something was wrong when he was 2 days old but no one would listen and i even felt bullied by one of the midwifes who told me ”to stop whittling”.He ended up in intensive care with near zero blood sugar. He was later diagnosed with a metabolic disorder. It still makes me upset and angry now....
If you feel the need to make a complaint go for it! I was going to but decided I just wanted to get home and try and forget about it.

X

That is horrible, I'm glad she's ok! Congratulations by the way :hugs:
