Hi everyone,

I'm 11 weeks pregnant, it is my first pregnancy so I joined this forum to get some help, and to meet others who are pregnant, and new mums.

One of the questions I have is about my diet, what should I eat, but mainly, what shouldn't I eat !! ... for example, like the Big Mac meal + 9 nuggets I ate today, was that too bad?

I eat healthily day to day, but I do have a big desire for a lot of chocolate, desserts an hamburgers.

thanks,

mamaelin

First of all, guilt has never done anybody any good...what is done is done! And it's ok to indulge every so often. Just remember that mc ds have lots of salt and sugar and chocolate has caffeine!
Enjoy your treats...but keep them as occasional treats!

That's a lot of Mcdonalds lol! Since you only did it once, I don't see the problem. Especially since you usually eat healthy. I ate a Mcdonalds happy meal yesterday because NOTHING else sounded good. I had barely ate anything because I couldn't stomach it. Don't feel guilty!! :hugs: xx

When I was pregnant with my toddler, I ate McDonalds or Burger King constantly, felt bad about it too. But I get massive cravings for burgers also. I am amazed I didn't put on any weight. I'm trying not to do it now, maybe once every 2 weeks instead of every 2 days like last time.

I also ask them to give me a fresh made hot burger, in case they give me one that's been sitting around for hours, yuck.

I'm impressed I didn't give birth to the Hamburgler last time, really.

I did gain too much weight though - so moderation is always key :)

LOL when i get af usually I crave burgers I could eat them day in and day out. I dont know why. Mc d was a vice of mine, but i was able to limit it to ONLY when AF came. But now as soon as i got my BFP OH took my debit card away to avoid me sneaking to a fast food joint and eating more than my fair share of burgers. lol. Im only allowed once a month...lol...for now i dont care that much...but im sure one of these days hes going to get it, if he stands between me, craving and hormones and my burger!! HAHAHAHAHA All in all, i think if you eat it in moderation. You should be fine ;) Indulge!

You are soooo not alone!!! With my last pregnancy it seemed all I ever ate was McDonalds and Taco Bell, that was 7 years ago. This time around I'm having HUGE cravings for french fries and they seem to be the only thing that helps curb my morning sickness :dohh:. I am trying very hard to eat as healthy as possible but sometimes it's definitely harder than ever to do. Just try and eat it in moderation!!

Haha don't be guilty, I also eat junk food every 2 days,, the problem is that I'm craving burgers, French fries and every other junk food, Dh looks at me as if I'm crazy lol.

I have a Mc Chicken sandwich meal, LARGE a cheese burger and 9 nuggets everytime I go to mcds !! Which is 1-2 times a week. It's better than not eating atall !

To be honest that is a bit much but as someone said whats done is done and sometimes we are going to give in whether were pregnant or not and whether its ice cream or McDonalds but what I learned after a couple pregnancies is that what is best for your growing baby is good nutrition . Next time you go to mcdonalds you can get the chicken nuggets and apples instead of fries :) and get a bottle water. Make good choices that benefit both you and baby. Sometimes when I would eat fast food I would substitute fries for apples or side salad, not get mayo and skip cheese sometimes or opt for chicken salads but sometimes i would get a burger and fries but kept those days to a very minimum.

Welcome :)
As long as your sensible about what you eat then the odd mcdonalds wont do you any harm within reason so enjoy the occasional one but just dont expect to keep it down :)

Lol no... I eat Mcdonalds on the weekends. I eat healthy during the week, lots of fruits and veggies so I treat myself to Mcdonalds pretty much every saturday.

I had lg sonic chili cheese fries atleast 4 times a week the whole pregnancy. couldnt help it! I did continue to excersise though and only gain 20 pounds:)

I have pretty good metabolism. I can eat whatever i want but i do have to work out to maintain. I really loved double cheese burgers during pregnany too!
Thank you:)
my picture has gotten alot of compliments on here and facebook lol

I've had a few mcDonalds but I've felt so bad with morning (all day) sickness that sometimes I can only eat what I really fancy and that has been a quarter pounder a few times and then most recently a nugget meal. But I don't feel guilty it's better than not eating. I avoid the coke though as its caffeine. I've been going for milkshake instead. yummmmm. Getting hungry haha

I've also been fancying tomato juice and I find that really helps to stop the nausea.

In the first few months with morning sickness eat what you can stomach. You can always eat healthier in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters when hopefully you feel better.

Good luck with everything xx

I don't see why you feel guilty if you eat healthy normally!
I always talk to my mom about my pregnancy, and seeing a this is my first one too, I always tell her about the new things that I can eat and things I should avoid eating. She always says its utter non-sense! She tells me that what she was pregnant with me and my two brothers her diet pretty much stayed the same, she just ate a few more veggies and fruit every so often! I feel that these days there's too much worry about health. And that's another thing not good for the baby! I think people should just relax and enjoy their food instead of panicking. Some people might not agree with me but hey, me and my brothers turned out fine with no allergies or anything, so I personally don't see a problem.

I wish my cravings were fresh fruit and veg but afraid to say BK bacon double cheeseburger and the mcmuffin are the things I want DAILY! Although I know this would be silly so do try to limit how much of it I eat, just because I do wonder,,,,,what really goes into that meat? I made the mistake of watching Fastfood Nation, it claims it will put you off Mcdonalds burgers but was wasted on me!
