I am having my elective c-section next month and i was wondering if anyone bought a few maternity (or normal) nighties to wear post op? i had an emergency c-section with my daughter and i only had PJ bottoms and leggings with me which were very uncomfortable on my wound and itched a lot. Also i bled right through my pad, knickers and trousers so i went through a few pairs of them  should i just buy a couple of nighties or are they a waste of money?

Most definate a couple of nighties, buy some cheap ones from primark, nothing fancy.
Comfort is essential

I stayed in the hospital gowns the whole time and plan on doing the same this time. Just seems like a waste of money to me to buy something that is probably going to be ruined anyway.

I got some maternity nighties off ebay which did the trick, I even sold them again after. To be honest I hardly wore them as my trouser pjs didnt rub me (think I was lucky!)

Comfort is a definite must though!

Xx

I got a few nighties from Matalan!! They were ideal and not too pricey xx

I found loose pj bottoms and maternity tights comfiest!
I hate the thought of nighties with a huge pad and nothing to really hold it in place

I bought massive pj bottoms from Primark and also nightshirt/nighie things from there too. Don't forget to stock up on your giant granny knickers for afterwards too :)
Also, my midwife gave me a good tip, once they take your dressing off, put a giant thick maternity pad over it (obviously sticky side to your giant knickers) and it'll protect your wound :)

Deffo! I didn't buy any, but I did have a tshirt which was mega long and served me well. I started to wear my pj bottoms soon after and they were so uncomfortable.

I never wore massive undies, I wore hipsters, didn't want them on my incision!

Well I'm a size 10 so bought size 18-20, practically came upto my boobs lol!

I bought giant pj bottoms from primark that came up to my boobs! lovely and comfy! they do nice nighties aswell tho which i wore the first few days as those damn stockings had me roasted!

I wore the hospital gown the entire time. They let me take a gown home and I wore it at home for awhile too. It was so much more convenient!
