Hi Guys,

I would like your opinons on this if you don't mind. As most of you know I had a complete m/c 2wks and 2 days ago. I thought I had a pretty good handle on things now 2wks down the line. A few teary moments still, starting to really look forward to TTC once AF has been and gone and such. Well, this morning at about 8:30amish I had a phone call from the midwife asking to book my 1st appointment?!? I had to tell her no and explain why. She sounded shocked that it was 2wks ago and, obviously they had not been informed. She asked me if I was ok and appologised for phoning. I told her I was fine and that it wasn't her fault.

I am slightly upset now but, more angry that, in 2wks word has not got from the hospital to my GP and, from them to the midwives. Do you guys think I should call my surgery on Monday morning and ask, if they had heard from the hospital informing them that I had had a m/c? If they answer yes I would then ask then why did the midwives call me to book an appointment? What would you guys do?

Thanks in advance.

I would definatly be finding out why the midwife still had not been informed after 2 weeks its the last thing you need during such a sensitive time to be called by the midwife to arrange your first visit i know my midwife actually turned up for my first visit 2 days after i miscarried of course she apologised and asked if i was ok but it felt like salt was being rubbed in the wound i was very upset.

Shmoo: so sorry that you got that call from the midwife. Can't have been easy. It is hard enough telling family and friends, but you'd presume that the health professionals would communicate on something as serious as this. If you feel up to it, then do say something to your GP surgery about it. They need to ge their act together.
