Im unexplained.. had a HSG, tubes were clear and i ovulate...but been thinking should they of given me a lap to check for endo just incase???

Endometriosis does not follow any distinct pattern, which is why it is difficult for the medical profession to know that a woman has the disease. Some of the symptoms will mimic those of other health problems, including:

• ovarian cysts
• ectopic pregnancy
• Pelvic Inflammatory Disease
• irritable bowel syndrome
• ovarian cancer
• fibroid tumours
• colon cancer
• appendicitis

The most common symptoms of Endometriosis are:

• Pain before and during periods
• Pain with intercourse
• General, chronic pelvic pain throughout the month
• Low back pain• Heavy and/or irregular periods
• Painful bowel movements, especially during menstruation• Painful urination during menstruation
• Fatigue• Infertility
• Diarrhoea or constipation

Other symptoms which are common with Endometriosis include:

• Headaches• Low grade fevers
• Depression
• Hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar)
• Anxiety
• Susceptibility to infections, allergies

all those in red i get, and especially after the pains i got on saturday when af arrived.

A lap wasnt seen as necessary but it does make me wonder if somethings going on as to why i havent gotten pregnant in 3 years plus?

To me, it does seem like a lap should be an option for you, especially after 3 years. I'm currently unexplained and am having a lap this Wednesday to check for endo (I have no or very, very minor symptoms) and who knows what else. I wish for your sake they'd let you have one, as that could maybe help determine what is going on....and take some weight off your shoulders!

i've never thought much about it, just thought well they didnt suggest one so i must be fine, but now im due to start iui at some point im wondering if it should of been done when they were carrying out other tests? cheers chick! good luck for yours wednesday.x

I would get the lap done. I only get a couple of the symptoms listed, and had a tiny bit of endo. The tiny bit behind my left ovary did cause a little scarring though. A lot of unexplained people are only unexplained because of the amount or lack of investigation thats done. xx

That's very weird! I have all of those things you typed in red (minus the headaches and back pain) and heavy periods which wasn't in red. The very first thing my fertility specialist mentioned to me was doing a laparoscopy after all of my other tests were completed. I have had all of the other tests and now it's on to the lap I guess. I see him tomorrow.

I think you need to be persistent and get one done.

Whats next after your lap then chick, coz they removed the endo didnt they?
grr im quite annoyed, i think because the original tests i had done, the HSG etc.. was a few years ago with my ex, the new person im seeing must think im A ok? i dont get why a lap wasnt suggested? then again i havent ever sat and listed those things to them as i thought it was normal and i was just unexplained? I dont bleed irregularly but the low back pain is pretty often, but i didnt think much of it, the headaches used to be extreme for 2years straight, but i dont suffer so much now? i duno  x

I feel silly though as i never really said anything to them about could it possibly be endo? i didnt say oh yeh i do suffer lower back pain alot, and headaches, and sometimes horrific period pains but not so much blood. See its odd, i had the most horrendous pains saturday but not hardly any blood?

I think my doctor said I would need one because I told him that I need narcotic pain medication for period cramps. I also get bad cramps without a period. I didn't tell him about any of my other symptoms because he never asked.

NHS wise zero- that's the end of the road plus they say they can't (more like won't try and unblock my right tube). NHS now say they will not give us IUI its only IVF and we're not entitled to any more of it even though we have been ruled out of IUI.

Thankfully we're doing the Napro program which means I'm on Femara and HCG injections to help ovulation. I'm also on a drug called LND (think i mentioned it before- its unlicensed). But its a waiting game= everything has to work properly and we need a little luck ;(
xx

ah man nhs sucks! im praying and wishing for luck to come your way cooch xx
