Should I start IUI now or wait a month? - advice please

Hi ladies,

We visited the FS in Feb and dh had two SAs quite close together. I had all my tests done and she said to call back in May to have an IUI prep test to see if dh's can cope with IUI (otherwise we would have to go for IVF.

I called her today to ask why we have to wait till May to have his test done. She said it is totally up to us, but usually they wait 3 months in between doing SA's (I think it's to get a more realistic picture of his ).

So.... should we wait till the 3 months is up and delay the whole process or shall we go ahead and book an appointment for next week (that would have been 2 months between SAs). I am so eager to get things moving but don't know if I should wait.

I came straight to B&B as I know I always get great advice and support from my friends here.

Hi there- I think it's because sperm takes 3 months to be totally replenished in the testicles, so if you didn't wait the whole 3 months there probably wouldn't be much of a difference in the sperm count/motility etc. If you wait the while 3 months all the sperm would be new & it might give them a better picture of what is happening.
