finally getting round to announcing the birth of ruby-leigh weighing 8lb 2oz 3 days late born on the 29th of october at 01:43
labour was really quick once it started only 1hr 25 mins in active labour after a wierd start
20:00 on the 28th my waters broke after my 6 yr old daughter had given me a little pamper session which involved a lower back massage with a little machine i had bought to ease the back pain i had been having late in pregnancy and a lovely head massage as she was doing my lower back i had a contraction which eased then nothing more she finished her little session on me and i stood up to the trickle of my waters!!
i managed to get to the kitchen which has laminate flooring to a sudden gush
after 10 mins no more contractions but constant leaking i rang the l&d and was told to go in bearing in mind this was my forth child and my last labour started with my waters breaking and a baby being born within 2 hrs i thought she would come quicker so we were all on panic stations!!!
we got to the hospital around 21:00 still no contractions but was told when they started they would be thick and fast due to past history and was advised that even though i wasnt in established labour i should stay...
i was monitered closely then suddenly around 00:20 my contractions started coming thick and fast as though someone had flipped a switch and i went from 3 cms -10 cms in the space of an hr...
after 20 mins of pushing she was born the cord was under 1 arm wrapped around her neck then under the other arm the midwife said she looked like she was wearing a little bolero
but she was fine she also has a full head of hair which shocked me as i had no heartburn at all...
i was asked to guess what weight i thought she was and guessed bang on my little princess is finally here
