I initially did traditional weaning with my LO but since starting finger foods he's beginning to favour those over being spoonfed, to the Extent that he's beginning to be fussy with spoonfed food! I usuLly give him porridge for brekkie but was thinking I could maybe buy shredded wheat and soak it in milk then let him eat it himself.. Will this be ok?.. Is it soft enough? He's 6.5months xxx

Yes that would be fine for him.

My LO likes porridge fingers/balls too as an alternative.

I mix two TBS of porridge oats with two TBS of her formula then mash up half of a banana and leave it for 2 mins to thicken. Spoons into balls on a plate then pop in the microwave for just under 2 minutes.

Just to clarify do you add the mashed Banana to the porridge?
