does anyone else find their babies siblings watching bfeeding slightly uncomfy?

amy watches very intently with absolute fascination but it makes me feel so uncomfortable i think its because shes not my child. i like that shes interested she didnt even know babies were fed by boobies until faith was born but how can i tell her in a nice way to back off a bit.... shes only 6 :S

does anyone else get a bit uncomfy?

Not atall. When I stayed at my sisters my neices ( 6 & 8 ) were absolutely fascinated. When she was on my boob and one of them noticed they would say to the other "shhh, she's having boobie!" They asked questions too, like why she was on my boob and if it hurts. I thought it was cute TBH and my sister didn't have a problem with it x

Oh and "mummy when will I have milk coming out of my boobies?" "mummy why doesn't milk come out of my boobies?"

I can understand being uncomfortable, and maybe would feel the same, but I wouldn't let on to her. I wouldn't want her to see me being uncomfortable. I don't know how to say it, but I guess I would try to see it from her point of view, and try to enjoy her innocent curiosity.

Yeah I agree, I wouldn't let her know you're uncomfortable. It should be the most natural thing in the world, and I would want her to feel like that.

I just told them that I was her food and that you get milk when you become a mummy! Then came the "where do babeis come from" conversation, to which they got told, babies come when a mummy and daddy love eachother!

Apparently I used to watch my mum bf my younger sister, then stuff my doll up my jumper to feed him!

My 18 mo nephew used to watch closely but he doesnt bat an eyelid now. My friends 5 yr old was shocked when I started feeding and she asked what I was doing - when I said that milk was in my boobies she laughed and said 'there's no milk in my body!'

I personally dont mind at all but if you feel she's on top of you I'm sure you could say something about her needing to concentrate on her dinner and that she loves her sister so much she's getting distracted looking at her??

x

My neighbors daughter saw me and said "AWE!! thats so cute!" She's 11. lol it was uncomfortable when she came closer and sat next to me on the couch to watch

i can see why you would feel like this, my oh has a little boys whos 7 and he used to watch when we first had jack but now he doesnt even care and nor do i, if u just dont make a big deal about it i'm sure she will just get used to it, its like any new thing she will get board.

i def dont want to ruin her curiosity its nice for her to see breastfeeding as normal seeing as 14 days ago she thought all babys were fed with bottles but i cant help but feel a little odd about her watching so intently. i think its because i know she goes home and gives a full report to her mum of the goings on over the weekends..

Both of my other kids watch all the time and my 2 year old niece is fascinated, she doesnt just watch at my lap she gets right in there so shes practically face to boob with me!! my sister just thinks its sweet so theres no problem.
I sometimes find that Dylan will want to climb on me just as Harry gets latched on and i try and distract him by asking to get a muslin for when Harry burps or something helpful like that which might work to distract amy too??
x

My friends' kids all seem absolutely fascinated by me feeding Sam! They'll comme up and peer over and just stand there for ages having a good look  I think it probably would have made me feel uncomfortable at first - but I felt a bit uncomfortable feeding in front of most people at first...would have been even worse if they'd been about 10 inches from Sam's face!

I don't mind it at all now - I think it's sweet that they're interested x

I don't have a problem with kids doing it, it's when the adults do it that I get a little uncomfortable lol.

:laugh2: I would too... I think people are starting to realise that it's ok to look at me as they're not going to see anything though! I wouldn't want them coming over to have a look though! x

i fed jack around my a work collegues 8, 6 and 4 years olds and after the inital amazement they soon got over it x x

amy gets like a nose away from faiths head i find it slightly invading... it is cute dont get me wrong. im a fan of my own personal space am not a huggy person etc... im sure ill ease up soon i guess you forfit your personal space when you have children

Yup. It'll be fine!

Most embarissing for me was when my grandad came to have a look at her and she was on my boob! Poor man didn't know where to look.

OH's mum did it to me a couple of times, it felt slightly invasive lol
