Sick Note

Sorry for any mistakes. I am writing this on my phone through the squinted eyes of a migraine.

I've been off work since Monday with an ear infection (now also have migraine and vomiting) and I saw the Dr on Tuesday and she gave me some antibiotics. I assumed it would clear up quickly so I didn't ask about a sick note. But its now Friday and I have work in 3 hours and my head is pounding and my ear still aches (its 5am and can't sleep and feel like I'm going to vomit.

I read online that I would need a sick note if I am off for more than 7 days including weekends. I phoned on Monday to say I was sick but does my sick leave start from then or the Saturday before because if I am off today that will make 9 days (because of 2 weekends). I am going to try and phone my drs when they open (15 mins before I start work) to see if they can back date me a sick note for this week but they are notoriously hard to get hold of.

Anyone know if my sick leave started Saturday or Monday ?

It starts thE first day u were off sick. So if u were meant to be off work the weekend anyways, and then called in sick for the Monday, then it starts from the Monday, therefore 7 days will be Monday through to Sunday. You will only need a line if you plan to be off next week too. Xx
