I have an 11day old newborn. For the first week he was really good but the last 3 feeds he has literally been throwing up almost all of his bottle. I'm thinking it might be too rich for his stomach. He's been having dirty nappies every change too. We have been giving him 4oz of water with 4 scoops of cow and gate formula. Should we put slightly less scoops? Maybe 3.5? Or does anyone have any suggestions that might help?

I would speak to your hv. I cant say whether or not its down to the milk as he has been ok on it so far. Never change the water:powder ratio though as this can cause serious problems, so always use 1oz to 1 scoop. Could possibly be reflux? xx

My little girl started on just 2oz's of formula at every feed. She fed every 2-3 hours. I thought if i upped it shed go longer but she puked half up and was then still hungry at the same times! Maybe try giving lo smaller feeds more frequently? They only have tiny bellies :) could also be reflux.. I think most babies suffer from it to some extent. Sometimes it's severe (my LO has only just grown out of it at 14 months) Id only be worried if he stops getting wet or dirty nappies or losing weight. If not I'm sure it's fine

I had the problem whenever I used medela teats for 0+.LO would finish the milk in less than 10 mins and then throw up.I used avent 0+ teats and she had to suck longer to get the same amount. I ensured she took at least 20 mins to finish 4 oz.check if this helps before proceeding with treating reflux.
and agree with Gemble about smaller feeds more often.

My lo had a phase of doing this. We started winding him every oz or two and that seemed to really help.
