Well, i read this article this morning...
apparently a person whose name begins with "A" is likely to live longer and achieve more than a persons beginning with "D" :wacko:

my OH thinks its the dumbest thing he ever heard and tbh it does seem a tad far fetched :shrug:

but anyway, here's the link;

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...er-Dec--A-beginning-D-wipe-10-years-life.html

...they also claim your more likely to become a lawyer with the name Lawrence or a dentist with the name Dennis ???? :haha:

It sounds like the kind of article you'd find in the Daily Mail.

Utter tosh. Published in that well renowned and respected journal "Death Studies" (2008 impact factor = 0.842, for those of you who know nothing about scientific journals that means it's sh*t). It's also work published on people who were born between 1875 and 1930 when there were big differences between the life expectancies of children from poorer and richer families due to nutrition etc.

...they also claim your more likely to become a lawyer with the name Lawrence or a dentist with the name Dennis ???? :haha:

...and I'm SURE that finding is statistically independent of the socio-economic background of the kind of parents who call their children Lawrence or Dennis.

My mother reads the Mail, despite the fact I've been trying to wean her off it for years, so she's probably have read this crap now too and be calling me up to convince me to call the baby Lawrence any minute now....:dohh:

I think thats rubbish lol!! my name starts with A and iv not achieved anymore than my sisters!! Its down to the individual

xx

haha thats the funniest thing i've heard in ages, my grandma's name is Vanda, and she was 99 in sept and still lives on her own (granted in warden assisted) all her 7 brothers and sisters have all passed on so that cant be true! Typical Daily Mail "Pagefiller" heh

Good GOD it's amazing what you can get published if you just go to a bad enough journal!

It's amazing that people actually get paid doing research like this. :rofl:

What a load of crap they should be fired for thinking up such shit & wasting money!
