Hi ladies, sorry for this but, tomorrow I am having a c-section, and planning on breastfeeding. But what I would like to know is, before giving baby the breast do I need to wash my breasts incase of dried milk etc on them, if so is there like some special wipes u buy or do I just use soap and water etc...... Sorry for the stupidity but thank you so much in advance for reading xx

I don't wash/clean my breasts before offering them, although I do make sure I wash my hands.

No soap. It can dry out and crack your nipples. I don't wash mine either, just my hands. I was told not to put any soap on my breasts, even in the shower.

Nope. You're fine.

When DD was born and first fed nothing about me was clean and I fed her.

Oh that's brilliant ladies thank you so much for ur replies, really appreciated xx

Good luck with your c-section! I hope you and your little one get the hang of nursing really quickly. I look forward to seeing you around.
