I posted this in 2 other threads as a response and then thought it might be helpful or just interesting for others to share it separately.

So, today I had my 12 week ultrasound done for baby #3, and I am leaning towards boy, since the forehead is rounded. This said, the chin is a wee bit pointy, which is a female characteristic. Baby #3 is definitely giving me a run for my money!

My first 2 pregnancies showed textbook male/female characteristics in their 12 week ultrasounds. You'll see what I mean below.

My first (and the 1st picture) is a boy and the second (and the 2nd picture) is a girl. The third (3rd picture) is unknown at present. You'll see my first has the common rounded forehead and chin of males, and my second just screams girl with the flatter forehead and pointed chin.

I hope this helps some people visualize skull theory a bit better. I doubt it is 100% accurate, but it is interesting nevertheless. :flower:

I'm new to all this but i'm thinking boy from what i have picked up so far and comparing your 3rd to your other 2 :)

Totally new to all this but would lean towards boy, just comparing to your other scan pics. Really interesting though to see your pics, I posted my scan pic and most people said boy, but now seeing yours it compares to your girl pic most, flatter head and pointy chin, so thankyou for posting them all. ;) x

My now son aparently looked like a girl skull so guess its inaccurate? xx

I'm really intrigued now. My first (boy) had the following scans:-

BOY 12 week

BOY 20 week

I'd say the twelve week was more flat/neanderthal looking, but by the 20 week scan very rounded.

This is my recent 12 weeker, well 12+3, I've turned it upside down as the baby was facing down at the time. Looks much more rounded than the first 12 weeker ..so confused now! What do you think?

That's a tough one! I haven't been able to make any conclusions about my 3rd for the same reason. They both have characteristics of both. I would go with boy, at the moment.

I guess I'm happy either way! If it's a girl, it's the one of each people seem to crave... but a boy would be wonderful for two brothers together, too.
