My kiddo has hit the dreaded 4 month sleep regression, and I'm looking for tips on how to help him transition through sleep cycles. He's walking up when he hits the 45 min mark pretty consistently.

We leave for a cross-country trip tomorrow morning... bad time for a sleep regression!!

It is completely normal for babies to have single sleep cycle naps until about 6 months of age when they naturally start lengthening naps on their own. You can try to soothe him back to sleep by being in the room ready and waiting for him to start stirring and then pat his back or run his tummy or do whatever you usually do to settle him. He might settle back to sleep. I could never get Isla to go back to sleep after she woke up between sleep cycles so from about 4-6 months she always had 45 min naps. After 6 months her naps started lengthening on their own.
