Hi everyone.

I should be about 8W. 2 weeks ago, I started spotting brown and have continued to do so (with a little red here and there).

I had an u/s a week ago Friday, and baby measured 6w1d. (This was about a week behind my dates, and I tracked ovulation, etc).

I had another ultrasound a week later and baby only grew 2mm, now measuring 6W3D. So baby only grew 2 days worth in a week. Same machine, same tech, etc.

This along with the extended spotting seems pretty ominous. Has anyone had a situation where baby was growing slowly but everything worked out?

Thanks in advance.

I'm keeping things crossed for you! Didn't want to read and run....and I'm not trying to be insensitive because i know how scary this time is for all of us but my mc in March this year I never grew past 6w3d and the heart stopped somewhere between 8 and 9 weeks, mc happened at 10w2d. I didn't have any spotting until the mc began at the 10w mark. I read so many stories of babies catching up though because so much can change in a short time. Sending you nothing but the best of wishes!!!:hugs:

Were they able to get a heart rate yet? That should also help with knowing how things are progressing. My lo's heartbeat started slower than normal and then just got slower so that was honestly what was the biggest sign for us. So much can vary that early, from the positioning of the baby, angle of the scan, etc that just the smallest variance can change the "dating". In case you don't get any quick replies other than mine, in my time on these boards I have read plenty of stories of babies catching up by the time of the 9 or 10 week scan!!

:( I hope everything turns out okay. Did the tech find a heartbeat?

Thanks for your help, everyone!

Yes, they did find a heartbeat in the last visit - 113 bpm, so low, but she said right on for the babies size.

That's not low for a baby around 6wks. That's great that they found a heartbeat, I've seen several others post that their 6wk ultrasound found no heartbeat so that's really great. Try to focus on the positive. I've got my fingers crossed that bubs has a huge growth spurt!! :) when's your next scan?

That's actually not bad! Mine was only 94bpm at 7w and dropped to 55bpm at 8w so I'd say you're doing good! I know it's scary to have to wait week to week to find out what's happening :flower: Praying the best comes your way!

Thanks my dears! I have another scan on Wednesday, so 5 days after the previous scan. The following 3 things have me worried: the baby grew very slowly from week to week, the spotting will not stop, and I am measuring almost 2 weeks behind and I absolutely know when I ovulated. I'm going to try my very best to stay positive and really appreciate your support. Any stories, good or bad, are so helpful right now! Thanks again!

I know what you mean, the slow growth could honestly go either way. I'll be keeping you in my thoughts and will shoot up a prayer for your scan that despite everything you get a blessing and have peace when you go, I know how never wracking it can be!

I know it hun. Its so easy for us to tell you to remain calm and stay positive but i totally understand. the wait kills you. I was in limbo with my angel baby for 2 weeks before finally miscarrying. It was extremely hard not knowing what was going on. Like

I said, I'm really hoping for a growth spurt. ;)

Hi everyone,

I wanted to update this thread in case some went through something similar.

When we went back for the next scan 5 days later, our baby had grown 4 days worth with a heartbeat of 125. We left that appointment feeling hopeful with pics of our little one. Our doctor scheduled another u/s 2 weeks later.

We went back for that Ultrasound Wednesday and my baby had only grown 4 more days worth and his little heart was no longer beating.

I had a d&c Thursday and now I'm just trying to heal emotionally.

I feel like my heart stopped beating as soon as I heard the news. 2 mc in 5 months - I never could have dreamed this would be my reality.

Here are my ultrasound stats in case anyone looks at this thread later.

My first ultrasound was at 6W and I was measuring 5w3D.

My next was at 6W5D and baby measuring 6W1D - baby was there but no heartbeat yet.

My next was 7W5D and baby measuring 6W3D - heartbeat of 113.

My next was 8W3D and baby measuring 6W6D - heartbeat of 125.

My last was at 10W3D - baby no longer had a heartbeat and was only measuring 7W3D. I had my d&c the following day (this past Thursday).
