SMEP - A couple of questions

I have also posted this in the TTC section as well just to get some different opinions I hope:

Ok so now I am on my first af after my mc in August. I am 40 and ttc'ing for our first, as I realise this may take us a little longer my plan for this cycle is to temp (have ordered a BBT today) and do opk's from the day after my af finishes, I have also been looking at doing the SMEP, my questions are though:

1. Did anyone use the SMEP to conceive & if so how old are you & how long did it take to work (or didn't it work)
2. It says about how often to dtd but then it tells you to stop - stop for how long? Until after your af has arrived or you have got your bfp?

That final one confused me, I don't want the OH just to think he is a sperm bank, if we carry on just for fun it won't matter will it?

We kinda used SMEP, but had sex more often (see BFP chart in my sig). We used Softcups, Preseed, and I took Robitussin pills from CD7 - CD 14. This is our second baby and I had a MC April.

1. I am 38, DH is 34. We got pregnant on our second cycle.
2. Stop bding? I don't think it means to just stop, but to stop trying after you've ovulated and gotten the extra BD in. I only recorded the times around ovulation, but didn't any other times during that cyle.

Keep it fun or your DH may feel like a sperm bank like mine did. While he never complained about extra sex, I know he was tired after all that! haha

I could have almost written Sewergrl's post. We used SMEP, softcups, Preseed and Mucinex the cycle I got my BFP. I'm 38 years old.
