Hi girlies,
Just after a bit of advice really, as I'm in a pickle!!
My first birth was vaginal that went wrong, bubs ended up in special care, had ventouse, episiotomy and a LOT of stitches!!!
Never again!! So this time around had a meeting with my consultant and booked a c section. But now it's 4 weeks away I'm starting to wonder if I've made the right decision. Heard so many horror stories about c sections, and I'm really frightened.
Got a scan next week to see if this baby is measuring big (my ds was 9lbs) and if it is then i know I prob won't b able to deliver naturally anyway.
But if it's normal size..... I just don't know what to do. I know at the end of the day it's down to me only but I just want to get it right this time :( xx

If you think its the right thing to do go for it :). A lot more people share their negative c-section stories compared to positive ones. I had a EMC 4 months ago and I would do it again in a heartbeat to avoid the horrible birth experience I had last time.

I had 2 previous c-sections and another one coming up! I don't know any other way and for me it was a breeze!

I had an emcs last time. Never really feel there was much to say about it. The disasters came in the 32.5hr labour before it! My dd ended up in NICU, but that was due to the prolonged amount of time they left her before emcs. I was up and about the next day, walking better than those who'd had vaginal births. As I wasn't allowed into NICU to see dd until 12 I often ran errands for these other mums to help me get active!

I'm elcs this time, I've no qualms about it at all. They can't promise me it won't all happen again (no medical reason it would but there was no medical reason with dd), they also won't manage my other illness during my pregnancy, but they did offer to give me an epidural straight off to ease it all for me. When I questioned this, they admitted it left me even more likely to need another emcs. So elcs seems a no brainer.

I loved all my vaginal births, my last preg ended in an emergency section and i hated every second of it.

loads of woman have sections and prefer them :)
Good luck in making your decision, but please bare in mind that every preg is different and this birth may be totally diff from your first :hugs:

I worked incredibly hard during my pregnancy to prepare for what I hoped would be a natural labor and delivery and was extremely scared of having any surgical intervention. Because of complications I ended up having an emergency c-section at 41 weeks. That was only 11 days ago and I feel great. I think my recovery has been easier than some of my friends who were able to have natural/vaginal births. The worst part was getting over the disappointment of things not going according to my plans, but that's just life. I'm sure you'll do just fine either way.

i had a section last time due to placenta praevia...it was a piece of cake i found!! having an elective next week....hope its a similar experience!!!!!

I also had an elective c-section and it was a lovely experience, I don't regret a second of it. My son was out 16 minutes into the operation and he was just looking around the room like nothing even happened. (we both were actually).
