Hi all

Just wondering if you girls who have done IVF / ICSI felt this way...
feel so negative that it is has not worked and getting myself really down about it....how I will never have a child etc etc

I just want to curl up in a ball and sleep for the next 10 days.. plus me and DH are arguing over little things so making it even worse.. he is angry with me for being negative... I hate this feeling.. sorry to rant :hissy::cry:

xxxxx

just wanted to drop in and say good luck hun...i really hope you get your :bfp:.
:hugs:

I felt extremely negative on my second cycle, and it upset my DH that I was feeling that way.

It's natural to feel very anxious and to think it hasn't worked. Don't forget that you have been pumping high levels of hormones into your body for the last 4 weeks or so, which isn't going to help, but try and remember that this is the closest you have come to being pregnant, and there is no reason why it shouldn't work for you. It's hard to stay positive all the time, but don't let it ruin your relationship. Try and explain to your DH how you are feeling. If you're anything like me, you'll be feeling negative but still praying that this will be the one and only time you'll be proven wrong...

The IVF 2WW really is the worst on record isn't it???

:hug:

Thanks hun

I agree with you.. I also think because I have had 4 failed IUIs and not top grade embies transferred i just googled and spiralled out of control.. then you worry if being so negative will affect chances.. arghhh..

This is def the worst 2WW I have ever had.. much worst than IUI... I even cried at my acupuncture session this morning.. poor acupuncturist:rofl:

Thanks for all your kind words girls :hug:

not something i have been through but i can only imagine how tough it must be for you
(((((()))))))))

oh, and as always-step away from google!!!

I know it must be so hard, I am dreading the 2WW myself. My only advice is to do as much as you can to take your mind off of it. You know i think negativity is just a coping mechanism and will not affect anything in reality just you and your poor mind state. My DH is always really positive about stuff when I am overwhelmed with negativity. Try to ask him to understand how you feel. I am sure he will. And as others have said, just stop googling, it will never ever be able to tell you if this has worked. Only a test in 10 days will do that. The time you spend searching on internet is wasted time. Better spending that time in the garden.

:hug::hug:

Keep us posted how you are feeling, wobbly days and bad days!!

Hey, I am not starting ICSI until December... my first go... but I am dreading the 2ww already! I know it is hard, but try to think positively. You have no idea the power of the human mind. I would probably see myself thinking 'I'm pregnant' and acting as though everything is fine... but not getting TOO over excited... but being positive about it. That's all you really can do. Worry and stress etc is not going to help at all.

I hope this all works out for you! My fingers and toes are crossed!!! :)

Hey hun

I think sometimes curling up and living in a bubble is a good thing. The support we get on this site is immeasurable but it also means we are aware of all the problems other people have encountered - both in naturally ttc and also with their IVF cycles. It just makes you so much more aware and i think it can make you more anxious.

You will rock hun, a few more sleeps and those evil hormones will be on their way out of your body and things will be easier... then the pregnancy hormones will kick in and you'll have a whole new load of things to be concerned about... swollen ankles... veiny boobs.... Oooh the thrill of it to come :dust:

I felt shite. Angry and shite. I tested every day to make sure the trigger shot was out of my system and then it just went stark white. I tried to look inside of myself and I felt...nothing. The first week was especially bad. The second week was much better.

TBH I still feel as negative now as I did then. I still think it hasn't worked. Or, it has worked, but I still think that something hasn't worked...

thanks for sharing - i am sure u and baby /s r just fine...:hugs:

I'd say you sound perfectly normal. I know I was a total misery in my 2ww and I just couldn't function. I think DH was pretty frustrated with me. I was absolutely convinced it couldn't possibly have worked, I didn't feel pregnant and I spent a lot of time preparing myself for hearing the worst on testing day.

I don't think that there is anything that anyone can say to make you feel bright and cheery and chilled out (unfortunately). It is what it is and that is bloody awful. I hope it passes as speedily as possible and that you get a great result at the end. :hugs:

Oh hunni - you poor thing - I just dont think our DH's understand - last night I was really nervous about EC today and DH said - 'its not like you are having a biopsy for cancer is it - at least you arent dying'. I couldnt talk to him for the rest of the night I was so angry.

Yes i know I am lucky I am not dying - but I REFUSE to apologise for how I am feeling - and hun - you dont have to either. There is nothing that is going to make these two week go faster or any better sweetheart - Just hunker on down hun and keep going to bed and getting up in the morning and do what you need to do to get through the day - dont go to work if you dont feel like it and dont feel like you have to put on a happy face - you just keep on going and the days will pass and every time you wake up you will be one step closer to this being over.

We're fighter's hun - you'll get through it - just one day at a time. And as always - we are here for you whenever you need us.

Bx x x :hugs::hugs::hugs:

I know how you feel. I was a wreck and was convinced that it didn't work. I even posted some dreary posts of me losing hope when I tested CD9 and CD10 and it was BFN. I couldn't handle the BFN tests anymore so I decided not to test anymore. During CD13 & CD14 I had AF like cramps and I just wanted to cry. Well all my worrying amounted to just hormones and nerves. I know it's so hard not feel down because it's so scary getting your hopes up.

I can relate Tanya. When the Dr told us on Sat the quality of the eggs were not all that great and I started crying when they gave us a moment, DH told me, "U can't start thinking negative or it will be negative! You have to think positive!" Yeah, okay! He just doesn't understand. If that was the case we would've gotten pregnant right off the bat when we started TTC almost 2 years ago. I was positive first IUI and this first IVF, obviously positivity doesn't get you very far! I too was mad at him but didn't feel like blowing up in the office. I was very positive the first cycle, but now with these quality embies, I don't know. I just honestly feel like I will never get pregnant....

But, this time around I am trying to keep myself from going crazy. I will try to keep occupied, but I know in the back of our minds we know what we are going through and how it's so hard to forget it. :hugs: We're in it together and hopefully we can help each other from going crazy! :hugs::hugs::hugs:

Hugs - the TWW must be excruciating. All the best for a positive!
