I had my letter through regarding my SMP and I'm not entitled despite my manager telling me I was they tell me to apply for MA 3 weeks before he's due on top of that my child tax credits have stopped due to overpayment (their error) and I can't reclaim till bubs is born and it'll take time to process as it has to be done as a new claim so I have no money except my child benefit and OHs wages to cover the rent and bills till everything sorted I'm so stressed I don't know what to do I shouldn't be dealing with this at almost 37 weeks pregnant :(

Been they can't do anything till I have a claim form for MA and know what I'm entitled to if anything but it won't be enough to survive off by their calculations an the tax credits are no help without our income details for the year

how have you only found out you are not entitled to SMP now? You should have given your employer your MAT B1 by the 26th week of pregnancy and they should notify you of their decision pretty sharpish!!
Were you given a reason as to why your not entitled?
You can dispute an overpayment if it was HMRC's fault but you would have to prove you tried to inform them of relevant changes.
You could be eligible for housing benefit and council tax benefit now you only have your OH's wages.....put in a claim asap as it does take a while to process.

I have them my MATb1 form as soon as I got it and pestered my manager for
Weeks as I hadn't heard anything she told me everything was fine then last week I got a letter with my entitlements I'm can't get SMP as I haven't earned enough which I thought was the case but my manager said I was fine :/ I have an appointment at CAB this afternoon to find out about entitlements etc

I am in the same situation ... gave all the paperwork and Mat1 form and everything to my HR dept in Oct 2012, they said thanx, all is sorted now, just to find out on the 20th of Jan 2013, 5 days before I was expecting my pay, that I am not entitled to SMP from my work . My rent is due, my bills are due and my hubby's pay doesnt cover it all... I am also 37 weeks pregnant and so stresses by all this that my head is about to explode !!
Did you go to the CAB ? What did they say , if I may ask ?

Hey I went the CAB they were brilliant :) helped me fill In the ma1 form with the little money i get we're still barely scraping by but there's a roof over our heads and we manage to buy food and nappies etc its the waiting around that is annoying

When did you ladies start work in respect to being pregnant?
