LO is 2 today and has Chicken pox. Hes not very well with them and hes having a awful day. We were meant to be going out later to the sea life and for food but cant now. Hes been really sad all day so far and was ul most the night last night. Hes perked up a little now after calopl, ibuprofen, piriton, calamine lotion, vasaline and sudocreme and is sat having a play with some of his prezzies but it breaks my heart that I cant do anything to make him better and that its spoiling his day

Try filling up a warm bath and putting baking soda in it, great natural remedy for scratching etc!

ahhhhhhhh you cant control these things and he doesnt really know whats going on and you are making him feel better and more comfortable, so you are doing all you can do....... plus you can make it up to him when he is better.

Can you postpone your plans til next weekend or later in the week? That way he will still get to do something nice, just a little later than originally planned.

It's rubbish when they are unwell, especially when it's around birthdays or christmas, but he sounds like he's feeling a bit better and at least he's playing with some toys.

Its turned into a feed him what he likes day lol. I went KFC adn got him popcorn chicken earlier and got a smile for that and me and DS1 are going to walk about 2 miles later to go collect a pizza hut party for the 4 of us and I made him a cake yesterday..so that should cheer him up.
Thank you for the baking soda hint, I will pick some up tomorrow. His body doesnt seem to be itchy, he has them all over his head in his hair and hairline and they seem to be the ones troubling him. He also has them all over his willy and bum and he screams every time he pees So I have smeared him with sudocreme and then vasaline over to try keep pee off the spots. Poor little Sod

My mate had to do a similar thing for her little girl who was in hosp for chistmas with bronchitis
